We're looking to bring on a talented Content Strategist to lead the channel's next phase of creative direction.

You'll also experiment with new growth strategies to grow the channel, collaborate with other creators, and report on the business impact of our YouTube content.

This is a full-time role reporting to the Head of Content. The position is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid schedule of two days in the office and three days remote each week. We are also open to fully remote candidates based in New York.

  • Serve as an on-camera host, representing Kapwing to a global audience
  • Optimize videos for growth through titles, thumbnails, SEO, and retention strategies
  • Collaborate with the content team and CEO on content strategy, series, and lead creator interviews

Interview Process

As part of your application, you are required to make one original YouTube Short using this article: Best AI Video Models of Realistic Animals. If we choose to publish your video on the Kapwing YouTube channel, you will receive a $100 payment regardless of whether you advance in the interview.

Video Task

Review the article and develop your own creative angle for turning it into a YouTube Short. You'll choose the concept, framing, and title.

The article is information-dense, so we're looking for strong editorial judgment: identify what's most important, shape it into a short-form story, and make it engaging for a YouTube Shorts audience. The article also includes media assets you're welcome to use in your video.

Video Submission Guidelines
  • Length: 30 seconds - 90 seconds
  • >
  • Tone: Review the Kapwing YouTube channel and mimic our current tone of voice and style
  • >
  • Goal: Transform the long-form article into a short, punchy video that is informative and genuinely useful, while also being engaging, fast-paced, and well-suited to YouTube Shorts.
  • >

We are evaluating submissions based on originality, creative judgment, audience awareness, editorial instincts, and editing quality. We are especially interested in ideas that feel native to YouTube and aligned with Kapwing's brand and product.
  • Originality: A clear, fresh idea rather than a generic recap.
  • >
  • Audience awareness: Strong understanding of what would catch attention and provide value to Kapwing's audience
  • >
  • Hook and structure: A compelling opening, clear pacing, and a format that holds attention through the end
  • >
  • Editing quality: Strong visual execution, timing, captions, music/sound design, and overall polish
  • >
  • Platform fluency: Content that feels native to YouTube Shorts rather than repurposed from another platform
  • >
  • Brand fit: A concept that aligns with Kapwing's voice, product, and creator-focused positioning
  • >
