Your New Role...

CNN International is seeking a writer to deliver smart, engaging scripts that transform complex business stories into bold, distinctive television for our program Quest Means Business.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Research, and write compelling, conversational anchor copy for CNNI newscasts.
  • Collaborate with Producers on content, formatting scripts, viewing video and graphic elements, and finding relevant sources.
  • Write stories on a variety of topics, including leading international and business news
  • Pitch original segments and treatments for stories
  • Effectively coordinate script, live shot and interview elements with APs and/or Producer
  • Communicate effectively with remote teams in Atlanta/London
  • Support New York anchors


Qualifications & Experience...
  • Must have a BA or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years of newsroom experience, including at least one year of experience as a full-time newsroom writer or successful completion of writer training in a CNN newsroom.
  • It is important for the candidate to have a thorough understanding and proven experience in handling international stories.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate an active interest in business news
  • Must have the flexibility to work different shifts including evenings, overnights and weekends.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $70,070.00 - $130,130.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
