Role description:

The Workforce Planning Major Projects Lead will enable successful mobilisation, deployment, and demobilization of talent across major projects by coordinating workforce planning activities, aligning stakeholders, managing workforce risks, and ensuring workforce readiness throughout the project lifecycle. The role will also be accountable for coordinating workforce planning activities across the WFP network to ensure major projects are workforce-ready and supported by seamless mobilisation, deployment, and demobalization of talent.

Role accountabilities:
  • Act as the central Workforce Planning coordination point for major projects across Industries, Sectors, Services, and Regions.
  • Define workforce planning coordination requirements, governance expectations, planning cadence, and workforce readiness requirements for major projects.
  • Recommend workforce mobilisation, deployment, transition, and demobilisation actions to support workforce readiness and successful project delivery.
  • Identify and coordinate resolution of cross-project, cross-service, and cross-regional workforce dependencies that may impact project delivery.
  • Monitor critical role fulfilment and workforce deployment progress against project requirements, escalating risks and constraints where necessary.
  • Track workforce mobilisation effectiveness and workforce readiness indicators to support successful project execution.
  • Align workforce planning activities between Project Leadership, WFP teams, Resource Planners, and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate, coordinate and ensure workforce requirements are understood, coordinated, and translated into workforce planning actions across the relevant WFP teams and Resource Planners.
  • Coordinate workforce planning activities across multiple business units, services, sectors, and regions to support major project delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate end-to-end workforce mobilisation, deployment, transition, and demobilization activities to ensure continuity of project delivery and optimal workforce utilization.
  • Monitor readiness of workforce supply against project demand and escalate gaps requiring intervention.
  • Support workforce transitions between projects to maximize workforce continuity and utilization.
  • Monitor workforce capability and capacity requirements against current and future project demand, partnering with Service Executives and Workforce Planning teams to identify capability gaps and workforce readiness actions.
  • Partner with Service Executives, Workforce Planning teams, and Talent Acquisition to proactively identify future capability and capacity requirements and support workforce readiness for upcoming major projects.
  • Identify workforce risks, critical resource dependencies, and capability constraints that may impact project delivery.
  • Facilitate resolution of resource conflicts, workforce bottlenecks, and competing workforce priorities across teams.
  • Escalate workforce risks and mitigation actions to project and workforce planning leadership.
  • Promote consistent workforce planning practices, governance standards, and mobilisation processes across major projects.
  • Facilitate workforce planning forums and project workforce reviews.
  • Provide visibility of workforce readiness, mobilisation progress, and workforce risks to stakeholders.
  • Support the successful delivery of major projects.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Extensive experience in workforce planning, resource management, major project delivery or a related operational discipline, with a proven ability to support workforce strategies within complex project environments.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning principles, resource management methodologies and operating models, with the ability to align workforce capability with project and business objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting major project mobilisation activities, ensuring workforce availability, capability and capacity are effectively planned to meet project delivery requirements.
  • Strong understanding of workforce forecasting techniques, with experience developing resource forecasts that support project mobilisation, delivery planning and long term workforce requirements.
  • Proven ability to assess workforce risks, identify capability gaps and develop mitigation strategies that support successful project delivery and organizational resilience.
  • Experience supporting strategic workforce planning and business decision making through the provision of workforce insights, resource analysis and forward looking planning recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret workforce, operational and project data to identify trends, evaluate scenarios and support evidence based decision making.
  • Experience collaborating with project leadership, operational teams and business stakeholders to align workforce planning activities with project schedules, commercial priorities and client commitments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, facilitate collaboration and influence decision making across a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex workforce planning information clearly to senior leaders, project teams and business stakeholders.

  • Degree level education in Business Administration, Human Resources, Project Management, Engineering or another relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional certification in project management, workforce planning or a related discipline is preferred.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $115,200 - $138,240. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
