Job Summary:The Workface Planner supports construction execution by preparing and maintaining Installation Work Packages (IWPs) for assigned scopes. This role works with engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, safety, quality, and startup teams to confirm work package readiness, identify constraints, and support safe, efficient field execution in accordance with project requirements and Bechtel procedures. #LI-ME1
Major Responsibilities:- Prepare and maintain Installation Work Packages (IWPs) for assigned scopes, incorporating drawings, specifications, work steps, quantities, materials, safety, quality, and turnover requirements.
- Support workface planning and construction execution by coordinating package readiness, installation sequencing, workforce needs, material availability, equipment requirements, and field constraints.
- Review engineering deliverables, model information, schedules, material status, and project control data to confirm work package completeness and readiness for safe construction.
- Coordinate with field engineering, construction supervision, procurement, project controls, safety, quality, startup, and subcontractor teams to resolve planning issues and maintain alignment with project priorities.
- Prepare or support field change documents, requests for information, package revisions, progress updates, and current as-built documentation for assigned work scopes.
- Use applicable work packaging, quantity tracking, project controls, and construction automation tools to maintain planning data, support reporting, and improve field execution effectiveness.
Education and Experience Requirements:- Typically requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of relevant experience; or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience supporting Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), Workface Planning (WFP), Installation Work Package (IWP) development, field engineering, or construction execution planning is preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills:- Developing professional knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), Workface Planning (WFP), Installation Work Package (IWP) development, construction sequencing, and field execution planning.
- Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, engineering deliverables, material management, quantity tracking, schedules, cost reporting, and project controls information.
- Ability to apply company policies, project procedures, and defined work processes to resolve routine to moderately complex planning and package readiness issues.
- Sound judgment in reviewing package completeness, identifying constraints, evaluating work readiness, and recommending practical actions within established guidelines.
- Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships with engineering, procurement, construction, safety, quality, startup, subcontractor, supervision, and project controls teams.
- Proficiency with applicable work packaging, planning, scheduling, quantity tracking, project controls, and construction automation tools used to support field execution and reporting.
