The DNR's Enterprise Performance and Project Management Office (EPPMO) is seeking skilled and energetic individuals to execute current and future state business process mapping, gap analysis, business system testing, and business transformation. The Workday Business Analyst position serves as an expert business analyst for the OneWA Project, implementing Workday as the statewide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool and financial system of record. This position will be an expert in identifying and documenting business requirements; determining whether new Workday system functionality meets those requirements; identifying and analyzing gaps within that functionality; and discovering and recommending option(s) to close those gaps in the future. This position facilitates cross-functional teams in business process analysis, document group learning, producing training and learning materials, testing system functionality, identifying and tracking defects and defect resolution, and serving as part of a support structure for impacted staff during project sustainment periods.
Fluency in basic financial language and accounting principles, business analysis, flexibility and ability to embrace challenges and change, and organizing multiple assignments and deliverables simultaneously are key competencies for success in this role.
Duties
Responsibilities:- Establish positive and productive rapport with DNR employees at all levels.
- Collaborate with multi-dimensional teams and lead complex and agency-wide efforts within assigned area(s) of focus to analyze necessary Workday functionalities essential to meet DNR business requirements.
- Create documentation relevant for aligning Workday Functionality with DNR business requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise and consultation to internal and external management and collaborators regarding DNR business practices within assigned area(s) of focus.
- Lead the effort to identify, analyze, and escalate gaps with Workday functionality not aligned with DNR requirements within assigned area(s) of focus.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze alternative solutions and present recommendations for gap resolution to project leader(s).
- Collaborate with SMEs within cross-functional teams to validate that OneWA program-provided functionality maps, job aids, and other reference materials are accurate and to identify, escalate, track, and monitor business functionality defects and defect resolution within Workday and other assigned systems.
- Adapt OneWA-provided functionality maps, job aids, and other reference materials to DNR-specific end-user needs.
- Provide Region and Division staff support and facilitate knowledge transfer of Workday functionality during project execution and post-go-live sustainment periods.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

- Experience breaking down, sorting, and synthesizing information, identifying trends and key themes, forming accurate conclusions and displaying through charts, graphics, and developing appropriate action steps and recommendations to ensure requirements and/or optimizations are resolved.
- Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning tool with some combination of the following functions:
- Core Financials (including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Allocations, Banking, Financial Accounting, and/or Asset Management)

Special Requirements and Conditions of Employment:- This position's assigned Duty Station is the Natural Resources Building (NRB) located in Olympia, WA, and works in a standard office environment with an open/low wall environment. Requires some bending/lifting/reaching to set up and take down workshops as necessary.
- Occasional travel to other DNR locations and state agencies may occur quarterly. Travel may be necessary in inclement weather depending on time of year.
