Responsibilities

Full Job Description
OB/GYN Associates of South Jersey is hiring a Nurse Practitioner, experienced in Ob/Gyn, to work full-time (M-F). No weekends!

Locations in Voorhees and Moorestown, NJ

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan, focusing on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion.
  • Practices under the standard procedure established for the Nurse Practitioner role consistent with company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
  • Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
  • Performs routine physical examinations within scope of practice, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, PAP tests, and any relevant infection screenings. Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, Endometrial Biopsies, works with Pessaries - education & maintenance; may perform Colposcopies.
  • Provides education on women's issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Orders diagnostic tests and prescribes medications within scope of practice.
  • Provides expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition (perimenopause, menopause, postmenopausal) by managing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep issues, educating patients on treatment options (hormonal/non-hormonal), offering lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, supplements), and supporting overall well-being with evidence-based care.
  • Confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care.
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
  • Consults with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
  • Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to ensure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
  • Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate people, and documenting events.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
  • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to pursue continuing education and stay updated on advances in Women's Health.
  • Must be able to work at each practice location as scheduled.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP); with focus on Women's Health highly preferred.
  • Board certification in WHNP, FNP, ANP, or similar.
  • Current unrestricted state Nurse Practitioner license, Controlled Substance Registration (where applicable), and DEA, or ability to obtain licensure.
  • 1-2 years' Women's Health experience preferred; willing to train new graduates with Women's Health RN background.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks a plus.
