DescriptionWho We Are Looking for and What You Will Do as a WinOps Systems Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Systems Engineer to support and oversee critical IT infrastructure and enterprise systems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position manages Active Directory, Exchange Cloud Technologies, Windows Server, virtualization, security, backups and disaster recovery, desktop management, and systems monitoring, while leading infrastructure initiatives, supporting operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement.
- Manage and maintain core infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Cloud, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix)
- Implement and oversee security solutions - firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and anti-malware - alongside backup and disaster recovery programs
- Monitor and optimize system and server performance using System Center Configuration Manager and Operations Manager
- Manage desktop environments across Windows and Apple platforms, with the ability to plan, document, and report on projects and processes
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with strong communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
- Mentor junior team members while fostering collaboration, cultural awareness, and effective conflict resolution across a diverse group of stakeholders
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- One to two years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or a related IT infrastructure role
- Experience administering enterprise technologies, including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Online, Windows Server, System Center, virtualization platforms, desktop management, systems monitoring, and backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience supporting secure, reliable, and highly available IT environments
- Ability to plan, document, implement, and support infrastructure projects while effectively managing multiple priorities
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, resolve conflicts, mentor team members, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
*Position is hybrid/in-office located in Salt Lake City.
