WINERY GENERAL MANAGER
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Winery General Manager to lead the property, grow the business, and take ownership of the BOTTAIA guest experience.
This is a sales-driven Winery General Manager role. The person we hire will be expected to bring guests to the property, maximize the value of every visit, convert guests into wine club members, build loyalty, and give people compelling reasons to return and bring others with them.
Hospitality is how we deliver it. Revenue growth is how we measure it.
The Winery General Manager will have the resources and support to make that happen. A Tasting Room Supervisor and operating team support the day-to-day guest experience, while Marketing, Wine Club, Events, Accounting, Facilities, Human Resources, and other shared company resources support the property.
The Winery General Manager sets the direction for BOTTAIA, leads the team, understands the numbers, identifies opportunities, and brings the right resources together to grow the business.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Property Revenue & P&L
Own the financial performance of BOTTAIA Winery. Understand the business behind the numbers and take action when performance is above or below plan.
Sales & Guest Development
Drive traffic to the property and maximize revenue from tasting experiences, wine sales, food and beverage, retail, events, and other guest experiences. Develop relationships with hotels, concierges, tourism partners, local businesses, and other organizations capable of introducing new guests to BOTTAIA.
Wine Club Growth & Retention
Create a sales culture in which wine club conversion is a natural extension of exceptional hospitality. Work closely with the Wine Club team to grow membership, strengthen member engagement, and create experiences that encourage members to return and introduce BOTTAIA to their friends and family.
Tasting Room Operations
Lead the tasting room through the Tasting Room Supervisor and floor team. Establish expectations for hospitality, wine knowledge, selling, presentation, productivity, and accountability. Be visible on the floor and actively engaged with guests and the team.
The Pool at BOTTAIA
Own the successful seasonal operation of The Pool at BOTTAIA, including pre-season planning, lifeguard recruiting and certification, seasonal staffing, training, operating standards, safety compliance, guest experience, food and beverage, and financial performance.
Food & Beverage
Oversee the guest and financial performance of BOTTAIA's food and beverage operations, ensuring the offering complements the wine, strengthens the guest experience, and contributes appropriately to property revenue and profitability.
Programming & Events
Own the property calendar and create reasons for guests and members to return throughout the year. This includes tastings, wine club events, live music, seasonal programming, special experiences, partnerships, and the continued development of private events as a revenue channel.
People & Leadership
Build, coach, and lead a high-performing hospitality and sales team. Establish clear expectations, develop supervisors, address performance issues promptly, and create a culture in which associates understand both the guest experience we want to deliver and the business results we expect to achieve.
HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED
You will have access to the numbers and be expected to know them.
Performance will be reviewed through clearly defined operating and financial measures, and other agreed-upon KPIs.
Results will be reviewed regularly with the Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced hospitality operator who is equally comfortable leading people, serving guests, selling, and managing a business.
The successful candidate should bring:
• Approximately 10 years of progressive hospitality, winery, restaurant, hotel, luxury retail, or related experience, including at least five years leading teams and managing financial performance.
• A demonstrated sales record you can walk us through. You should have carried revenue goals, understood your numbers, and been accountable for achieving them.
• Experience managing a P&L, budgets, labor, operating expenses, pricing, and profitability.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop supervisors and hold teams accountable while maintaining a positive hospitality culture.
• Strong wine knowledge and the ability to establish an appropriate wine education and service standard for the floor. WSET, Certified Sommelier, or similar certification is valued but not required.
• Experience operating a seasonal amenity, resort-style environment, or multi-outlet hospitality property is a plus.
• Comfort working with POS, wine club/DTC, reservation, and reporting systems and the ability to use operating data to make decisions.
