Job Description

COLSA is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support the U.S. Army Materiel Command in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will provide hands-on systems administration and technical support for Windows-based server environments supporting mission-critical Army operations. This role may require approximately 10 to 15 percent CONUS travel to support operational sites and system deployments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise physical and virtual Microsoft Windows Server environments across domain-joined, workgroup, and isolated (air-gapped) network environments
  • Install, test, and validate Windows Server security patches, updates, and system configuration changes
  • Apply required security updates and configurations to systems supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments
  • Implement and maintain compliance with applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements
  • Review vulnerability scan results, perform remediation activities, and support vulnerability management efforts
  • Utilize vulnerability assessment and compliance tools such as ACAS, SCAP, STIG Viewer, and similar tools
  • Monitor system backup operations and support backup validation, restoration, and recovery activities
  • Coordinate with site personnel to ensure required patches, security updates, and configuration changes are implemented
  • Support Windows-based application workstations and related infrastructure as required
  • Coordinate with external Test Lab personnel to validate system configurations prior to production deployment
  • Perform on-site server maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, configuration changes, and security remediation activities
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, vulnerability status reports, and compliance documentation
  • Troubleshoot Windows operating system, server, application, virtualization, and connectivity issues
  • Support virtualized environments utilizing VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, or similar technologies

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, cyber, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of eight years of related experience in Windows systems administration or infrastructure support
  • Security+ certification (or equivalent/higher)
  • Applicable Computing Environment (CE) certification
  • Active Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to work on site in Huntsville, AL, with CONUS travel approximately 10 to 15 percent
  • Demonstrated experience administering and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server environments
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, user access management, permissions, and Windows domain services
  • Experience managing physical and virtual server environments
  • Experience applying system patches, security updates, and DISA STIG compliance requirements
  • Experience reviewing and remediating system vulnerabilities using ACAS, SCAP, or similar tools
  • Experience supporting virtualized environments utilizing VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, or comparable technologies

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline
  • Knowledge of Army enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity requirements, management practices, and operational support procedures
  • Experience supporting Army installation-level IT operations, including Network Enterprise Center (NEC) or Regional Cyber Center (RCC) environments
  • Experience supporting DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and cybersecurity authorization requirements
  • Advanced experience administering Windows Server environments
  • Experience designing, configuring, or troubleshooting enterprise virtualization environments utilizing VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments, including patching, configuration, and troubleshooting
