Job DescriptionWGL - Senior Compensation Analyst This is a high-impact, consultative role for a compensation professional who thrives in complexity, partners confidently with senior leaders, and brings both tactical precision and strategic thinking to compensation decisions and program design.
What You'll Do- Act as a trusted compensation advisor to HR Business Partners and leaders, including senior and executive stakeholders, ensuring alignment with AltaGas' compensation philosophy
- Lead job documentation, market pricing, and wage analysis, making recommendations ranging from individual job pricing to broader compensation program design
- Analyze and recommend salary levels for internal and external offers, bringing context, clarity, and market insight to compensation decisions
- Design and maintain advanced compensation models and analytics to support decision-making, workforce planning, and program evaluation
- Identify recruiting and market compensation trends and advise on enterprise-level implications and responses
- Support the implementation and maintenance of compensation systems, including testing, data audits, and ongoing governance (Workday experience is an asset)
- Educate and coach leaders and HR partners on compensation practices, philosophy, and decision frameworks
- Apply employment and compensation-related regulatory knowledge to all analyses and recommendations
What You Bring - 5-10 years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in compensation supporting broad-based programs
- Demonstrated experience consulting directly with senior and executive leaders on compensation strategies
- Strong knowledge of market-based compensation practices and relevant employment legislation
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, modeling); comfort working in highly detailed, data-driven environments
- Experience with Workday compensation modules is a strong asset; energy sector and/or international compensation experience is a plus
- CCP, PHR, or SHRM-CP designation preferred

We offer a competitive salary range of $95,400 - $138,075 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
