Job DescriptionWGL - HR Advisor The HR Advisor provides trusted guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and practices, supporting the effective execution of the business and HR strategy. This role builds strong partnerships across the organization, serves as the first point of escalation for HR inquiries, and collaborates closely with Senior HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence (COEs) to resolve issues, deliver HR initiatives, and ensure legislative compliance.
What You'll Do: - Provide policy input aligned to business strategy, including external benchmarking
- Communicate and support the rollout of HR policies, programs, and procedures
- Ensure policies are accessible, consistently applied, and operationally effective
- Support deployment of COE-led initiatives and participate in cross-functional HR projects
- Advise employees and managers on leaves, performance, promotions, benefits, and employee life-cycle events
- Coach managers on routine employee matters; escalate complex issues to HRBPs or Legal as needed
- Support performance management, disciplinary actions, severance calculations, and exits, with a solid understanding of Canadian Common Law
- Facilitate onboarding, offboarding, exit interviews, and employee issue resolution
- Promote employee self-service tools to improve efficiency
- Prepare employee documentation and maintain accurate, compliant records
- HRBP & Talent Support
- Provide reporting, analytics, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making
- Support succession planning, talent reviews, workforce planning, and development activities
- Partner with HRBPs on organizational changes, restructures, and outplacement coordination
- Contribute to HR training and enablement materials
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring support as needed
- Confirm headcount approvals and support job descriptions and onboarding coordination
What You'll Bring:- 5+ years of progressive HR experience; 2-4 years in an HR Generalist, Advisor, or Manager role
- Strong understanding of business strategy, employment law, and HR best practices
- Proven ability to influence leaders and manage sensitive matters with discretion
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- CHRP designation preferred (or in progress)
We offer a competitive salary range of $95,400 - $138,075 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
