Job DescriptionWGL Energy - Technical Business Analyst, Digital & AI Solutions
Reporting to the Manager, Innovation, the Technical Business Analyst, Digital & AI Solutions serves as the key link between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving system improvements, digital transformation, and AI innovation across the organization.
What You'll Do- Partner with business and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Act as a trusted liaison between Sales, Billing, Operations, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Digital teams to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
- Support projects through the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and deployment.
- Participate in Agile delivery activities, backlog management, and solution design discussions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to help ensure projects remain on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and solution validation to ensure business and technical requirements are met.
- Conduct process and gap analyses to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain process documentation, SOPs, training materials, and support change management and user adoption initiatives.
- Support enhancements and integrations across enterprise platforms, databases, reporting systems, legacy applications, and emerging technologies.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Tableau to support data-driven decision making.
- Ensure data integrity through data validation, governance, and user training.
- Identify, design, and implement AI and automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and related technologies.
- Monitor and optimize AI solution performance, adoption, and business impact.
- Promote responsible AI practices, including data governance, security, compliance, and ethical use of AI technologies.
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role.
- Experience in the energy, utilities, retail energy, or financial services industry is preferred.
- Experience gathering requirements, writing user stories, managing backlogs, and supporting testing and UAT.
- Knowledge of Agile, Hybrid, or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Experience creating documentation, SOPs, training materials, and delivering end-user training.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Exposure to system integrations, APIs, and data workflows.
- Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Experience with AI technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and responsible AI practices.
CompensationWe offer a competitive salary range of $95,400. - $ 135,425 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
