Full Job Description
Under general supervision of the Director of Installation & Planning - WMS Support, with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating enterprise support operations related to agency infrastructure, enterprise printing, systems access, installation planning, distributed technology environments, and operational support services supporting NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) operations citywide.
Information Technology Services (ITS) is recruiting for one (1) IT Project Specialist, to function as Welfare Management System (WMS) Project Specialist, who will:
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives impacting more than 20,000 WMS users citywide and ensure projects are completed in accordance with operational, technical, and business requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee WMS-related technology projects and implementation activities in order to support agency operations, maintain service continuity, and achieve project objectives.
- Develop project schedules, implementation plans, milestones, and deployment strategies for WMS technology initiatives; coordinates project activities among HRA program areas, ITS divisions, OTDA, New York State ITS, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Track project deliverables, dependencies, risks, and implementation issues and develop recommendations to support successful project completion.
- Coordinate testing, deployment, validation, and post-implementation activities to ensure operational readiness and successful transition to support teams; provide project status updates, implementation progress reports, and issue escalation documentation to management and stakeholders.
Hours/Shift:
9:00AM - 5:00PM and after hours/weekends, if required.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
