?? Role Overview

As Welding Engineer, you will spearhead the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of welding processes across production. You'll be a vital bridge between engineering and operations-developing procedures, training welders, and leading initiatives that enhance throughput and quality. This role suits someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys turning technical complexity into streamlined execution.

?? What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain WPS, PQR, and WPQR for SAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and automated systems
  • Conduct welding trials and optimize parameters using waveform control systems like Lincoln Power Wave
  • Lead root-cause analyses to resolve defects and support production with practical solutions
  • Collaborate on design reviews, automation integration, and mobile manufacturing setups
  • Champion continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and KPI monitoring
  • Guide and qualify welders, oversee testing and ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 and ISO 9001
  • Maintain documentation, oversee consumable specs, and support quality and supply chain initiatives

? Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
  • 5+ years' experience in heavy steel manufacturing, large-diameter welding, and process qualification
  • Deep understanding of AWS D1.1, waveform data interpretation, and quality systems (ISO 9001, APQP)
  • Skilled in CAD tools and fabrication drawing analysis
  • Exceptional communicator and confident technical leader on the shop floor

  • AWS certifications (CWI, CWE, SCWI)
  • Experience with wind tower specs and OEMs (e.g., GE Vernova, Vestas)
  • Knowledge of photogrammetry, SPC tools, and ERP/PLM platforms (SAP, Omega, Intelex)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
