  • Ensure compliance with EN 15085 and AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, and D1.6 standards
  • Translate engineering drawings, models, and specifications into optimized production weld strategies
  • Design and support implementation of weld cells, jigs, and fixtures
  • Drive continuous improvement of manual, semi-automated, and automated weld processes
  • Lead welder qualification activities and oversee inspection planning
  • Support supplier quality initiatives, including audits and first article inspections
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and leadership to deliver projects under complex conditions
  • Contribute to bids and proposals by reviewing welding requirements and feasibility

What will make you successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related field
  • AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
  • Deep understanding of welding prep
  • 3+ years of experience in complex, safety-critical weld environments (rail, aviation, naval, automotive, or heavy equipment industries preferred).
  • Proven hands-on problem-solving experience with implementation of corrective actions
  • Demonstrated success in driving projects under challenging conditions
  • Strong project management skills (planning, scheduling, budgeting, ROI analysis)
  • Ability to effectively collaborate from the shop floor to the boardroom
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

What would make you stand out:
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma / Lean certifications
  • International Welding Engineer (IWE) or Technologist (IWT) certification
  • Advanced degree (MS) in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Bilingual (German/English or Spanish/English)
