About the RoleWe're seeking a Weld Automation Engineer to design and support automated welding systems, from fixture design through PLC programming and machine validation.
What You'll Do- Design or assist in the design of weld fixtures
- Establish weld process parameters for equipment
- Coordinate or assist with weld fixture validation and finished part gauge verification
- Design, implement, and document control systems for automated equipment
- Conduct electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic design; program peripheral devices and machine PLCs
- Coordinate machine debug, power-up, and validation with build and electrical teams
- Ensure equipment is designed and programmed to customer build specifications using standard techniques
What You Bring- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and diagrams
- Proficiency with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1/D1.2/D1.3/D1.6, B2.1/ASME Section IX)
- Strong working knowledge of FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes
- Working knowledge of NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT) and weld inspection criteria per ASNT TC-1-A
Nice to Have- Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- Experience in industrial manufacturing and metal fabrication
- Experience with on-site audit inspections
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, or 6+ years of related experience/training in welding automation
