Job Description:SummaryThe Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure works. This role requires a deep understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and industry standards.
Regular Job Duties- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data and unit prices.
- Prepare and present cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals to clients and management.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities in project estimates and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in construction technology

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil construction projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
