SAIC is seeking a Weapons Maintenance Support Lead to support the AC-130 gunship located at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, NM.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This vital position is establishing the maintenance program for the 30mm and 105mm weapons on the AC-130 gunships at Kirtland AFB, NM. The lead position will be setting up and managing a small team of maintainers to support day-to-day and depot level maintenance as well as development of processes and procedures to support the USAF training unit. The lead will also be acting as a liaison to the USAF on behalf of SAIC and the Weapons Systems Integration Branch at NSWC Crane, IN.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Act as technical field support SME on the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems providing expert level troubleshooting, maintenance, and training support to the USAF at Kirtland AFB.
  • Provide on-site technical support for weapons and equipment associated with the gunship systems.
  • Act as liaison between SAIC, Weapons Systems Integration Branch (Crane) and Kirtland AFB leadership.
  • Work independently and within a team to achieve goals, meet schedule requirements, and serve customer needs.
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written form at multiple levels of management/command.
  • Analyze, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Develop and review training material, processes, and procedures.
  • Research, read, and follow Technical Orders, directives, regulations, and policies.
  • Research and evaluate situations, provide viable solutions, and execute mission needs.
  • Handle high stress situations and respond appropriately.
  • Manage, track, and report inventory.


Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
  • Bachelor's degree and six (6) year or more of related experience; master's and four (4) years or more of experience. Demonstrated experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Experience with preventative/corrective weapons maintenance.
  • Experience with ammunition and weapons management.
  • Moderate to high-level of expertise in MS Office products.
  • Must be flexible to work multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a full secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Highly motivated to develop team to achieve maximum effectiveness and success.
  • Training and course development experience.
  • Material management - ship, receive, track, report.
  • Military experience highly desired.
