Full Job Description
The WCAN Leasing & Equipment Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing Western Canada's equipment leasing portfolio on behalf of the Director of Capital Delivery & Asset Movement while supporting the WCAN Capex Manager. This role owns and optimizes all leasing activities across WCAN, leads the development and continuous improvement of equipment maintenance processes across all locations and product lines, and oversees the approximately $75 million annual equipment lease portfolio. The successful candidate will identify opportunities to improve processes, optimize spending, and increase the speed and efficiency of lease execution. This role also provides leadership to the Equipment Maintenance (EM) Coordinator group across Western Canada, driving process alignment, maintenance system implementation, asset structure, and related initiatives. By providing direction, support, and coaching, the incumbent will strengthen maintenance reporting and analytics capabilities while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Working closely with Treasury, banks and leasing companies, Finance, General Managers, Plant Managers, Operations Managers, Fleet Managers, and Equipment Maintenance Coordinators, the successful candidate will build strong relationships, coordinate regional initiatives, and promote a culture of ownership across the business. They will also share their technical expertise through site visits and formal training sessions to enhance operational knowledge among front-line employees and supervisors.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Lead and optimize the end-to-end WCAN equipment leasing process, from budgeting and equipment ordering through lease execution, approvals, and implementation.
  • Drive operational and financial performance across the WCAN lease portfolio by collaborating with business partners, financial institutions, leasing vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Champion data integrity and reporting for fleet leasing, equipment maintenance, and asset management systems to support informed business decisions.
  • Lead, develop, and support Equipment Maintenance super-user groups across WCAN, driving process standardization, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor lease execution timelines, identify bottlenecks, and provide reporting to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Partner with leasing vendors to ensure accounts are accurate, reconciled, and effectively managed.
  • Influence stakeholders, establish priorities, communicate timelines, and drive successful execution of regional initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Heavy Equipment, or a related discipline is preferred
Required Work Experience: 5-7 years of progressive professional experience in construction, heavy equipment, manufacturing, industrial operations, asset management, or a related field. Demonstrated experience managing equipment leasing portfolios, capital assets, and equipment lifecycle processes.
Required Technical Skills: Experience working with maintenance management systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and asset management processes. Advanced proficiency with SAP or a comparable ERP system; experience with asset management and maintenance modules is preferred. Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Travel Requirements: 30%

  • Proven ability to analyze data, develop reporting, and influence operational and financial decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
