Full Job Description

GFT is seeking to build a pipeline of Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer/Project Manager talent to join our Water team in either Toronto, Mississauga or Ottawa ON. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto, Mississauga or Ottawa office. 

 

As a Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer/Project Manager, you will provide technical leadership and support to a team of skilled engineers, leveraging your expertise to enhance the team’s capabilities while managing multiple projects. In this role, you will overseeing the planning, design, and construction of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems, as well as pump/lift stations. You will also prepare construction documents and specifications, and manage construction oversight and administration for both new construction and rehabilitation projects.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

    • Participating in condition assessment evaluations for water, wastewater, and storm system assets, including large diameter pipelines and pump/lift stations, using various approaches and technologies.
    • Meeting established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, including project/task scope, schedule, and budget.
    • Working directly with clients to identify needs and provide solutions, while leading teams in preparing winning proposals and successful presentations.
    • Coordinating the execution of projects with other disciplines and the Project/Program Manager.
    • Developing small to large design projects from inception to completion.
    • Preparing complete construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater systems for clients.
    • Managing and leading the growth of client relationships.
    • Creating and managing cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring design tasks are completed within budget and on schedule.
    • Leading the preparation of detailed engineering calculations and analyses, and utilizing design software to solve complex issues.
    • Supervising and supporting the work of others while mentoring junior engineers and design/drafting technical staff.
    • Overseeing and participating in people management activities, including hiring, onboarding, staff development, mentoring, and performance management

What you will bring to our firm: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • 4 years of related experience
  • P.Eng or pursuing P.Eng.

What we prefer you bring:

 

  • Project experience including design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, storm water systems, and pump/lift stations.
  • Project experience with pipeline and pump station design projects.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Experience managing preparation of and reviewing and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Functional experience with MS Office applications.
  • Active participation in regional or national professional associations.

Compensation:

 

The salary range for this position is $85,700.00 - $126,000.00 dependent upon experience and geographic location.

 

Location: Toronto, Mississauga or Ottawa, ON

Employment Status: Full-Time

Sponsorship for Canadian Work authorization is not available for this position.

No relocation assistance will be provided for this position.
