Full Job Description
Weston is seeking a Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary water/wastewater engineering projects of moderate to advanced scope and complexity. This role is well-suited for a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) (Civil, Environmental, Structural, Chemical, or Mechanical) who combines strong project management capabilities with technical expertise and a drive to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions.

The Project Manager leads projects with defined scope and multiple stakeholders, including clients, internal project teams, and subcontractors. This individual is accountable for assembling and leading project teams, managing scope, schedule, and budget, and delivering projects that meet Weston's technical, financial, and operational commitments. The Project Manager builds trusted client relationships, aligns expectations, and contributes to business growth through successful project delivery and follow-on opportunities.

Expected Outcomes:

Project & Technical Leadership
  • Leads municipal water/wastewater projects of moderate to advanced scope and complexity, often involving multidisciplinary teams and multiple subcontractors.
  • Uses engineering judgment to guide technical execution, identify risks, and resolve complex project challenges.
  • Ensures all project deliverables meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Builds and maintains strong, trust-based relationships with clients, utility districts (MUDs), regulators, and key stakeholders.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact, effectively communicating project status, risks, and technical concepts.
  • Aligns stakeholder expectations and secures follow-on work through successful project delivery.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Assembles and leads high-performing project teams, leveraging technical strengths to achieve project objectives.
  • Provides mentorship and development for junior and mid-level staff, including engineers pursuing licensure and emerging project managers.
  • Fosters a collaborative, accountable team environment and resolves conflicts to maintain project performance.

Project Execution & Financial Performance
  • Manages scope, schedule, and budget to consistently meet or exceed financial and operational metrics (e.g., NIBT, margins, DSO).
  • Oversees subcontractor performance and ensures compliance with Weston procurement and quality requirements.
  • Proactively identifies risks and implements corrective actions to maintain project success.
  • Ensures timely and accurate invoicing and actively manages receivables.

Business Development & Growth
  • Contributes to business development through client relationship management, identification of opportunities, and support of capture strategies.
  • Supports or leads proposal efforts, including scope development, technical approach, estimating, and profitability planning.
  • Leverages project success to expand client relationships and generate repeat business.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas is required, or able to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • 10+ years of experience managing engineering, environmental, or infrastructure-related projects.
  • 5+ years of experience as a project manager.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects of increasing complexity, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design processes, project delivery methods, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to develop and grow accounts.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to lead teams effectively in dynamic environments and adapt to changing project conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical leadership with project management and business objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-growth regional market.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $87,612 - $115,841 - $143,965
