Expectations:
The Watch Commander is responsible for overseeing and supporting the day-to-day security operations of an assigned shift to ensure a safe and secure environment of care for all patients, visitors, staff, and property on the premises. The Watch Commander ensures that all security services are delivered professionally and in alignment with Huntington Health policies and values. This role requires excellent judgment, leadership, and the ability to resolve high-risk situations calmly and effectively. Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work alternate shifts is required to meet operational needs.
EDUCATION:
High school (HS) diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience in security, law enforcement, or military required.
Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in Healthcare setting required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current California (CA) driver’s license and must be insurable under Huntington's liability insurance.
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
Current CA Guard Card issued by the CA Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS)
SKILLS:
Must read, write, speak English fluently.
Basic computer knowledge required, proven experience with Microsoft Office and other hospital related programs preferred.
Basic report writing skills.
Demonstrated success with security specific software and technologies.

Pay Range: The estimated base rate for this position is $33.33 - $50.00.
Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
