The North America Quality organization is currently seeking a technical problem solver with project management expertise to join the Field Quality team at the Headquarters & Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The Total Warranty Cost Engineer is responsible to identify, define, quantify, and drive solutions for high cost and long-term reliability issues under warranty. This requires a technical understanding of multiple vehicle systems that would be even further enhanced with knowledge of dealership service department operations.
The successful candidate will organize and coordinate project schedules and manage cross-functional meetings with Engineering, Purchasing, Mopar, Quality, and Finance colleagues. This role should have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for automotive and system development, as well as experience with tools and systems used in the Quality organization. Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from accredited University
- 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering
- 2 + years of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Well-rounded automotive knowledge and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and able to manage unionized workforce
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and Project
- Working knowledge of TeamCenter
- Working knowledge of GD&T and understanding full detail on drawings
