Position Overview
Join us in our fast-paced support to develop, advance, and sustain weapon systems for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners. You will be joining a team of personnel with experience and an in-depth understanding of the environments that include ground, near-space, space, and any system that operates in those environments to meet current and projected strategic, operational, and tactical needs for the Department of Defense (DoD). QinetiQ is a mission-led innovation company that works with the USSF and DoD to design, develop, field, and maintain requirements essential to national security and the survivability of the warfighter.
We are seeking a Warfighter Integration Lead to bridge space capability concept development and operational warfighter requirements under the SAF/SQ program. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience translating combatant command needs into acquisition-ready specifications and CONOPS, and has a deep understanding of how space capabilities support joint warfighting operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead engagement with combatant commands, service components, and joint warfighter communities to capture, analyze, and prioritize operational needs for space capabilities
- Translate warfighter requirements and Operational Needs Statements (ONS) into technically sound, acquisition-ready specifications and concept-of-operations (CONOPS) documents
- Support the revision or drafting of JCIDS and acquisition documentation such as Initial Capability Documents (ICDs), Analysis of Alternatives, Capability Development Documents (CDDs), and DOTMLPF analyses
- Facilitate warfighter working groups, requirements reviews, and capability assessment forums; develop associated briefings and summary products
- Provide operational and technical advice for projects and programs as well as support program acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities
- Maintain a broad awareness and understanding of all programs and technology development efforts in execution across the applicable portfolio; assist integrated product teams and working groups
- Advise the Government program manager on technical engagements including technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and program conferences
- Identify areas of improvement with actionable, feasible recommendations for reducing risk; support risk identification and detailed mitigation planning
- Monitor evolving joint doctrine and operational concepts; assess implications for SAF/SQ acquisition programs and advise government leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, systems engineering, operations research, or a related discipline;
- 10+ years of experience in space operations, joint requirements development, or space acquisition support
- Demonstrated experience translating operational requirements into acquisition-ready documentation
- Deep understanding of joint warfighting concepts, CCMD operational needs, and space mission areas (ISR, SATCOM, PNT, missile warning, space domain awareness)
- Familiarity with the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and DoD requirements processes
- Strong facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills; proven ability to lead cross-functional working groups and brief senior leadership
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities; excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Military service with direct experience in space operations, joint staff assignments, or combatant command headquarters
- Prior SETA experience supporting a Space Force, SDA, or Air Force space program office
- Familiarity with Space Force capability development frameworks and acquisition pathways
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this role is $170,000- $200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
