Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: As a key member of plant operations, the Shipping and Conveyance manager is responsible for managing all flow and storage of materials across the plant. The Shipping and Conveyance manager works closely with production to ensure the right quantity of material is in the right place at the right time to maximize output and consumer shipments. The manager will work to continuously improve processes across conveyance, shipping and inventory to improve throughput and reduce cost. This position provides an opportunity for an established supply chain leader to join a growing and dynamic company to help it achieve its goals. Base Compensation: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 w/ 10% Bonus Potential Job Description Leadership • Manage plant shipping, conveyance and inventory team to ensure efficient and effective material flow and storage across the plant and on-time, in-full outbound shipments to customers • Work with plant managers and customer service / sales to ensure the right material is in the right place at the right time • Develop and implement written policies and procedures for daily operations • Continuously evaluate and improve systems and processes to drive increased performance and efficiency of the functions • Prepare annual budgets and provide regular updates on performance against budget • Hire, train, provide performance feedback, and take appropriate disciplinary action for team members when required • Ensure that food and plant safety is maintained at all times and foster a safety culture, including participating in regular food and plant safety audits (if required) Shipping • Ensure inbound/outbound product gets on the right truck, at the right time, in the right quantity, headed to the right destination, with all of the proper documentation. • Communicate and resolve customer shipment issues when they arise, including working closely with the Customer Service and Sales teams to coordinate activities to resolve issues • Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders • Estimate lead times for customer orders and communicate resolution plan on late deliveries. • Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc. Conveyance • Manage all flow of materials across the plant (including from outside storage locations) to ensure the right material is in the right place at the right time for production to consume • Develop and document clear process flows for all conveyance of material Inventory • Manage inventory team to ensure material is located in the right places • Establish and maintain physical inventory mgmt./cycle count processes to maintain a high inventory accuracy and minimize waste • Ensure inventory is accurately captured in ERP system and work with Finance to ensure inventory is correctly reflected in reporting Qualifications • Focus on customer service; meeting needs accurately and efficiently • Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills • Proactivity and ability to manage conflict • Self-starter with initiative to drive change in a fast-paced environment • Problem solving EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • 4+ year of Shipping and Plant Logistics experience • Experience in Food Safety and Audits • Proficiency in Oracle/other ERP • Proficiency in Excel • Process mapping/improvement, value stream mapping • Lean/Six Sigma training and experience • Bachelor's degree in, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or related field Additional Information POM's Dedication to You: • Thriving Wellness Community: Access to top-notch medical coverage comprehensive vision and dental plans, and a 401k with match eligibility to secure your financial future and including: • 24/7 online physician consultations • virtual mental health resources • life coaching • engaging employee community groups • cash rewards for healthy habits and fitness reimbursements • library of on-demand fitness videos • Career Advancement Opportunities: Unlock your potential with clear paths for career progression and internal mobility across our diverse family of brands and business units. • Focused Learning and Development: Grow as a leader with our dedicated Learning and Organizational Development department, offering extensive resources like People Manager and leadership training, webinars, and eLearning courses. • Empowering Mentorship Program: Connect with colleagues through our company-wide mentorship program to share goals, overcome challenges, and drive your career forward. • Continuous Improvement Training: Participate in training that empowers all employees to learn and implement concepts that drive significant, positive change in the workplace. • Building a Healthy Society: To date, our co-Founders Lynda and Stewart Resnick, through their foundations and The Wonderful Company, have invested more than $2.5 billion in education, health and wellness, community development, and sustainability initiatives across California's Central Valley, Fiji, and the world.
