Warehouse Manager

Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Starting Salary: $85,000-$90,000 annually

Position Summary

Mitchell Industrial Tire Co. (Mitco) is seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Riverside warehouse. This position is responsible for warehouse safety, employee leadership, inventory accuracy, productivity, and the efficient movement of products from receiving through shipping.

The Warehouse Manager will set daily priorities, direct warehouse employees, make operational decisions, address performance issues, and identify opportunities to improve safety, service, and efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations
  • Manage daily receiving, storage, picking, staging, shipping, and material movement.
  • Establish priorities and assign employees and resources based on workload and business needs.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and completed on schedule.
  • Maintain an organized warehouse layout and efficient product flow.
  • Monitor inventory, warehouse capacity, dock activity, and workflow.
  • Investigate shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support customer and operational needs.


Employee Leadership
  • Direct, coach, and develop warehouse employees while maintaining accountability for safety, attendance, productivity, quality, and conduct.
  • Assign work and adjust staffing based on operational needs.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and address employee performance or conduct issues.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development.
  • Provide recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, performance management, corrective action, and other employment decisions.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations and personnel matters.
  • Evaluate staffing, scheduling, and overtime needs.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are applied consistently.
  • Exercise independent judgment in routine employee and operational decisions.


Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable Cal/OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct routine warehouse safety inspections and promptly address hazards.
  • Ensure forklift and material-handling equipment is operated safely and required inspections are completed.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain safe standards for housekeeping, racking, docks, pedestrian traffic, material storage, and PPE.


Inventory & Performance
  • Maintain accurate inventory through appropriate controls, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and recurring variances.
  • Monitor key warehouse measures, including inventory accuracy, order accuracy, productivity, overtime, damage, and on-time shipments.
  • Identify and implement improvements to warehouse layout, workflow, material movement, labor utilization, safety, and productivity.
  • Maintain standard work and warehouse procedures.


Equipment & Facility
  • Ensure forklifts, pallet jacks, dock equipment, racking, and other warehouse equipment are properly maintained and safely operated.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Address facility or equipment issues that may affect safety or operations.


Qualifications

Required
  • Prior experience in warehouse, distribution, shipping/receiving, inventory, logistics, material handling, or a related operations environment.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, receiving, shipping, and material movement.
  • Ability to lead employees, establish priorities, solve problems, and maintain accountability.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with warehouse, inventory, ERP, or similar business systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.


Preferred
  • Previous warehouse supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience leading employees in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
  • Experience with warehouse management or inventory-control systems.
  • Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
  • Physical & Work Environment Requirements


This position works in an active warehouse and industrial environment and requires regular movement throughout warehouse, storage, and dock areas. The employee may occasionally be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

The work environment may include forklifts and other moving equipment, varying temperatures, noise, and dust. Required personal protective equipment must be worn in designated areas.

Schedule & Compensation

This is a full-time, on-site position at Mitco's Riverside, California facility. Occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, or additional hours may be required based on operational needs.

Starting Salary: $85,000-$90,000 annually

This position is classified as salaried, exempt.
