Position Overview
This position is for an experienced professional in Materials & Logistics, who works independently, monitors distribution of materials, develops standard operating procedures, evaluates inventory costs and sets service rates. Collaborates with internal and external parties, confers with department heads regarding warehouse activities, and responds to customers inquiries.
Confers with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control, or purchasing, to ensure the efficient movement of material from receiving, or the warehouse, to production.
Develops standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials to increase efficiency and optimize processes.
Evaluates freight or inventory costs associated with transit times to ensure that costs are appropriate.
Examines products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage or transport.
Issues shipping instructions and provides routing information to ensure timely deliveries.
Negotiates with carriers, warehouse operators, or insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates to ensure cost effectiveness.
Participates in setting transportation and service rates to ensure that rates are appropriate.
Responds to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services to ensure that the business provides satisfactory standards of service.
Schedules or monitors air or surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials to ensure timely delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations
2+ years of experience in quality or operations continuous improvement principles
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Experience managing third-party logistics providers
Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional coordination experience.
Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with WMS systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications.
A self-starter who thrives in environments with ambiguity and rapid change
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
