Position Summary:

The W&D Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing customer onboarding initiatives and continuous improvement projects that optimize warehouse and distribution operations. This role partners closely with Operations, IT, and customers to develop scalable solutions that improve productivity, enhance service offerings, and drive operational excellence. The Industrial Engineer will leverage technology, data analytics, and engineering principles to identify opportunities, solve complex operational challenges, and support strategic business initiatives.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Identifying project requirements, define solutions, develop implementation plans, and manage execution to ensure successful outcomes
  • Leveraging Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionality and advanced system capabilities to improve operational efficiency and enhance value-added services
  • Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that clearly define workflows and operational use of WMS capabilities
  • Analyzing operational data using SQL, Power BI, and other analytical tools to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions to improve quality, service, and productivity
  • Researching, evaluating, and recommending new technologies, equipment, automation, and process methodologies to improve service levels and reduce operating costs
  • Designing warehouse layouts and material flow concepts using AutoCAD to optimize space utilization, labor efficiency, and operational performance
  • Collaborating with operations leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams to implement process changes and support facility initiatives
  • Performing ad hoc operational analysis, reporting, and special projects as required

To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and experience utilizing advanced functionality to support operations
  • Proficiency with SQL, Power BI, and other data analysis tools to extract, analyze, and present operational insights
  • Proven experience managing complex projects including customer onboardings, system integrations, process redesigns, or operational optimization initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies, perform root cause analysis, and develop practical, sustainable solutions
  • Experience with facility layout and design using AutoCAD preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed throughout the Northeast region
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused, multi-project environment
