Full Job Description
Arbor Realty Trust is seeking a seasoned and detail-driven professional to join our multifamily originations team as Vice President - Freddie Mac Transaction Manager. This pivotal role will lead the execution of Freddie Mac conventional loan transactions from application to closing, ensuring alignment with Freddie Mac guidelines and internal standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with deep industry experience, capable of managing multiple deals and stakeholder communications in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the transaction process, maintaining timelines, coordinating stakeholders, and proactively resolving issues during underwriting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Freddie Mac conventional multifamily loan transactions from application through closing.
  • Monitor and enforce key deadlines and deliverables throughout the underwriting and closing process.
  • Review and coordinate third-party reports including appraisals, environmental assessments, and property condition reports.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Freddie Mac during underwriting, facilitating communication and resolving process-related issues.
  • Report regularly to senior management regarding transaction status, key risks, and workflow bottlenecks.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot issues that may arise throughout the due diligence and underwriting cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with Freddie Mac guidelines, internal policies, and timing requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience underwriting conventional multifamily loans under the Freddie Mac platform.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • More than 5 years of Freddie Mac underwriting experience.
  • Familiarity with Freddie Mac's Optigo platform and internal submission protocols.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • MBA or other relevant postgraduate education is a plus.

Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. offers a competitive base salary and discretionary bonus. The starting base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the course of the year. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
