Position Summary

The VP Talent Acquisition Manager role is responsible for serving as a player-coach, directly managing and developing members of the Talent Acquisition team while maintaining a targeted requisition load. The role provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, workload oversight, and performance support to recruiters while remaining actively involved in recruiting hard-to-fill, specialized, senior-level, and priority positions. The Manager leads full life-cycle recruiting, develops talent pipelines, partners with hiring managers and business leaders, and identifies opportunities to improve recruiting processes, technology, metrics, automation, candidate experience, and overall team effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as a player-coach, maintaining a targeted requisition load focused on hard-to-fill, specialized, senior-level, and priority roles.
  • Leads full-cycle recruiting strategy and execution for assigned searches, including sourcing, screening, candidate assessment, offer support, and candidate experience.
  • Partners with hiring managers and business leaders to understand workforce needs, develop recruiting strategies, and provide market insight and hiring guidance.
  • Owns recruiting metrics and reporting, using data to monitor team performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leads improvements to recruiting processes, technology, and automation, including enhancements to the applicant tracking system and associated workflows.
  • Builds and maintains external talent pipelines and partnerships with candidates, agencies, schools, associations, and other recruiting sources.
  • Ensures recruiting practices are consistent, compliant, and well documented, including complete records and defensible candidate-selection practices.
  • Supports a positive employer brand and candidate experience throughout the recruiting lifecycle.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

People Manager Responsibilities

  • Manages the Talent Acquisition team and oversees day-to-day operations, priorities, recruiter workload, requisition activity, and delivery to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Sets high performance standards and manages team performance in accordance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Creates a flexible and energized work environment, fostering an atmosphere that enables employee trust and engagement.
  • Inspires confidence and motivates others to perform at their best.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to strengthen recruiter capability, accountability, and overall team performance.
Qualification Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of recruitment management experience.
  • Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty credential preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of all applicable employment laws and regulations preferred.
  • Ability to work with urgency and to meet deadlines preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multitasking environment preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25% travel required.

  • Requisitions are filled within agreed service level targets, and hiring managers consistently receive qualified, well-screened candidate slates.
  • Hard-to-fill, specialized, and senior-level searches close without extended vacancy or repeated reposting.
  • Recruiter workload, requisition activity, and performance expectations are managed consistently across the team, and recruiters demonstrate measurable growth in capability.
  • Recruiting metrics are accurate, current, and used to identify trends and drive process, technology, and automation improvements.
  • Applicant tracking system records and candidate-selection documentation are complete, consistent, and audit-ready.
  • Candidates and hiring managers report a professional, timely, and transparent recruiting experience.
