As a VP, Senior Underwriting Director - Energy Casualty Power & Renewables, you will take ownership of a dynamic portfolio of complex new and renewal business, while serving as a trusted subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders. You'll be at the forefront of shaping our Power & Renewables strategy-bringing insights, influencing portfolio direction, and driving profitable growth.

In this role, you will:
- Manage a prominent & bespoke book of business, including g. cost and loss sensitive risks
- Drive new business growth through focused risk selection and strategy
- Develop & maintain productive external relationships with key brokers & clients in the industry
- Collaborate with Risk Engineering & Claims to anticipate the unique needs of Power & Renewable energy risks
- Develop, expand, and enhance broker and client relationships through intentional visibility and frequent engagement
- Build for the future through fostering team development, talent upskilling
- Negotiate and place facultative reinsurance when applicable
- Collaborate with other Zurich units where appropriate to deliver a holistic customer insurance solution
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 9 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
OR - Bachelors Degree and 18 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
AND - Experience in a specialized insurance line of business or segment
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPCU
- Advanced knowledge and practice of lines of business
- Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines
- Ability to effectively assess risk
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Strong presentation skills
Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply-your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $175,000.00 - $280,000.00, with Global Specialty Incentive Plan bonus eligibility set at 50%.
