Job Summary:
The Vice President, Pricing defines and executes Advance Auto Parts' enterprise pricing strategy across customer segments. This executive leader drives profitable sales growth, margin expansion, competitive positioning, and customer value through data-driven pricing strategies, advanced analytics, and disciplined pricing governance.
The role leads a geographically distributed pricing organization across the U.S. and India and partners closely with Merchandising, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Technology, and field leadership to align pricing decisions with company strategy and financial objectives.
What will you do?
Establish and lead the enterprise pricing vision, strategy, and roadmap across Retail and Professional customer segments, including strategic account and commercial pricing programs.
Develop pricing frameworks that balance sales growth, gross margin expansion, market competitiveness, and customer retention.
Lead baseline pricing, customer pricing, competitive intelligence, promotional pricing and effectiveness, pricing science, pricing execution, and pricing governance.
Identify and deliver pricing opportunities that support revenue growth, gross profit improvement, and operating income objectives.
Establish performance measures for price realization, sales and margin growth, competitive positioning, customer retention, and promotional effectiveness.
Champion advanced analytics, predictive modeling, elasticity analysis, segmentation, and test-and-learn capabilities to improve pricing decisions.
Oversee the development and adoption of pricing systems, dashboards, reporting tools, governance processes, and executive-ready insights.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of pricing leaders and professionals, including succession planning and capability building.
Partner closely with Merchandising leadership to establish category-specific pricing strategies, competitive positioning, assortment objectives, and promotional plans that support enterprise growth objectives.
Collaborate with Sales and field leadership on customer pricing programs, contract pricing, retention strategies, and strategic account opportunities.
Oversee customer pricing programs, contract pricing, strategic account pricing, exception pricing governance, and other pricing levers that support Professional customer growth and retention.
Partner with Finance on annual operating plans, forecasts, business cases, and profitability initiatives.
Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Inventory, and Technology teams to align pricing actions with promotional, operational, and customer priorities.
Establish pricing governance, approval standards, and controls to support consistent execution across channels, markets, and customer segments.
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on pricing performance, market trends, opportunities, and risks.
Location & Work Availability:
This position isHybrid (4days in office,1day remote),based at our corporate headquarters inRaleigh, North Carolina.
Qualifications:
Deep expertise in enterprise pricing strategy, price optimization, pricing architecture, customer segmentation, competitive intelligence, and margin management.
Experience with pricing for professional customers in a sales organization.
Demonstrated success translating complex data and market insights into commercial strategies and measurable business outcomes.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to balance revenue, margin, customer value, and competitive positioning.
Proven ability to lead organizational transformation, strengthen governance, and scale analytics-enabled pricing capabilities.
Exceptional executive communication, cross-functional influence, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead leaders, build high-performing teams, and develop organizational capability across large, geographically distributed teams.
Experience in retail, wholesale distribution, consumer products, automotive aftermarket, or another large multi-channel environment preferred.
Experience with pricing optimization platforms, business intelligence tools, and advanced analytics preferred.
Certifications, Experience, and Education:
Certifications: No specific certification required; relevant pricing, analytics, or finance credentials are a plus.
Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in pricing, merchandising, strategy, analytics, finance, or a related discipline, including significant experience leading large-scale pricing organizations and senior leaders.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
