Overview

What You'll Do:

The Vice President of Performance Content is a senior leader within the PMX Performance team with responsibility for advancing the Performance Content practice across Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), AI Search and the evolving organic discovery landscape. The VP will help shape the practice vision, translate marketplace change into scalable client solutions, and lead the development and evolution of client solutions focused on organic visibility and brand presence across search and AI-powered discovery experiences. This role combines practice leadership, client advisory, product and solution development, revenue growth and team leadership. The VP will partner with Publicis agencies and client leaders to build scalable approaches and guidelines. They will also develop performance evaluation methods and ensure the practice evolves with changing platforms, algorithms, data sources, and consumer behaviors.

Responsibilities

Practice Development
  • Advance the strategic direction and growth of GEO, AI Search and their connection to established SEO and content practices.
  • Serve as a senior Performance Content leader across Publicis agencies, building agency relationships and helping agency and client leadership understand marketplace shifts, brand implications and the actions required to compete in emerging discovery environments.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of marketplace conditions relevant to GEO, AI Search, SEO and content, and use that knowledge for ongoing communication with Publicis agencies, clients and the market.
  • Support the development and refinement of scalable processes and guidelines that improve quality, consistency and operational effectiveness across the practice.
  • Identify, test and operationalize new capabilities that address evolving client needs within search and AI-driven discovery.
  • Establish reporting and measurement approaches that connect discovery performance to meaningful business outcomes.
  • Drive adoption of Performance Content solutions through executive advocacy, education, thought leadership, learning programs and cross-agency enablement.
  • Evaluate and cultivate strategic relationships with relevant technology, data and platform partners to support practice growth, innovation and client value creation.
  • Drive cross-agency collaboration through shared frameworks, methodology and workflow development, and facilitate connectivity across a network of Performance Content experts.


Client Delivery
  • Act as a trusted senior advisor to client and agency executives on GEO, AI Search, SEO and content strategy, including implications for brand authority, discoverability and consumer decision journeys.
  • Lead executive-level strategy, reporting and deliverable conversations, translating complex platform and performance signals into clear business decisions.
  • Provide senior oversight for priority engagements, ensuring high-quality strategy, delivery, measurement and stakeholder communication across teams and markets.
  • Partner with agency teams to design integrated approaches spanning performance media, content, social, web experience, analytics and related fields to support evolving consumer discovery behaviors.
  • Communicate client roadblocks and challenges effectively, resolve delivery issues and establish mitigation plans for material risks.
  • Champion responsible, evidence-based recommendations that clearly distinguish observed data, platform guidance, hypotheses and areas requiring continued testing.


Growth & Commercialization
  • Share accountability for client satisfaction, revenue retention and organic growth related to Performance Content services.
  • Identify and lead prospecting, expansion and new-business opportunities across Publicis agencies, positioning GEO and AI Search capabilities in a differentiated and commercially viable way.
  • Develop scopes, staffing models, delivery approaches and value narratives for consulting, activation, measurement and ongoing optimization engagements.
  • Partner with agency performance and content leads on pitches, client onboarding, renewals and expansion plans.
  • Use marketplace intelligence, client demand and delivery takeaways to prioritize the practice roadmap and investment decisions.


Team Leadership & Development
  • Partner in building the organizational capabilities required to scale GEO and AI Search services through workforce planning, hiring, role design, training and career development.
  • Provide methodological coaching and mentorship across critical thinking, quantitative analysis, technical proficiency, client leadership and executive communication.
  • Conduct performance reviews and career path planning for direct reports and support consistent talent development across the broader practitioner network.
  • Drive a culture based on partnership, collaboration, accountability, experimentation and intellectual curiosity while maintaining strong delivery rigor.
  • Facilitate collaboration among agency teams, globally distributed resources and specialist partners to deploy the right expertise for each engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, concentration in business, marketing, advertising, communications, analytics or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, organic search, content strategy, digital media, e-commerce or a related field, including significant client and/or agency experience. 6-7 years of SEO experience, with experience in building and driving execution of performance goaled SEO strategies. Advanced Content SEO experience required.

  • Prior success operating at the Vice President, Group Director or equivalent senior leadership level, with accountability for practice growth, senior client relationships and complex delivery.
  • Deep expertise in SEO and organic discovery, with demonstrated experience translating that foundation into GEO, AI Search or other emerging search and content solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, piloting, launching and scaling new service offerings, products, frameworks or capabilities in a constantly evolving market.
  • Proven success leading and developing teams of varied fields and seniority levels, including managers and senior individual contributors.
  • Proven success creating and delivering clear, strategic presentations and recommendations to C-level client and agency executives.
  • Strong commercial competence, including experience supporting new business, developing scopes and staffing models, renewing engagements and growing client investment.
  • Advanced understanding of how content quality, authority, earned signals, social and community ecosystems, structured information, website experience and technical accessibility can influence organic and AI-driven discovery.
  • Experience using SEO, analytics, crawling, research and reporting platforms to generate insights and guide strategy, with the ability to assess and adopt new AI Search measurement tools as the ecosystem evolves.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, balance multiple priorities and stakeholders, and make sound decisions with incomplete or rapidly changing information.
  • High competency level in MS Office with specific strengths in Excel and PowerPoint, executive storytelling and data interpretation.

Compensation Range: USD $149,340.00 - USD $239,148.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
