VP of Quality & Patient Safety in partnership with the Chief Quality Officer is responsible for the overall strategic planning, direction, leadership, and operational management of the quality, patient safety, infection prevention, and accreditation programs of the Bassett Healthcare Network. The VP of Quality & Patient Safety has responsibility for coordinating, measuring, and improving performance and outcomes related to quality, safety, and accreditation. In this role, the VP of Quality & Patient Safety will work collaboratively across the enterprise and externally to advance the network as a leader in quality and safety, as evidenced by exceptional patient outcomes, performance rankings, and accreditation, as well as oversee processes to analyze and report patient safety, risk management and patient grievance data. Oversees education and oversight of educational activities related to risk, safety, Just Culture principles, regulatory compliance and coordinates process improvements to minimize harm/avoid repeat events in response to significant risk/safety events.
- Collaborate with the Chief Quality Officer in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and results.
- Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
- Ensure adherence with federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.
- Manage the budgets in areas of responsibility. Aggressively mitigate all variances to budget. Make sound decisions on best use of resources in support of regional priorities and strategies.
- Provide leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of ongoing programs to improve performance and manage costs, while improving the quality of patient care delivery
- Establish clearly defined goals and objectives and ensure follow through in a timely manner.
- Provide leadership in mentoring and developing direct reports and staff in a manner that emphasizes the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and the sharing of information, resources, and best practices amongst stakeholders across the organization.
- Create a culture that is decisive, action-oriented, flexible, and poised to seize opportunities to advance quality, service and performance.
- Ensure the integration of quality, service and efficiency improvements into day-to-day operation.
- Develops and implements the foundational strategy and change management necessary to reach quality and safety, objectives and goals.
- Directs and implements evidence-based programs, practices, and activities that realize continuous improvements in quality and safety.
- Works closely with Clinical and Non-Clinical teams for improvement on key performance indicators, designs processes for new initiatives, services and other targets identified by network senior leadership.
- Develops and implements strategic plans and initiatives to ensure optimal CMS and Leap Frog ratings. In instances of suboptimal network or entity performance, develops and implements mitigation strategies.
- Facilitates alignment between improvement initiatives and the organizations strategic plan; directs the day-to-day execution of the strategies and tactic necessary to successfully improve the outcomes and results of the organization.
- Responsible for maintaining the system-wide Quality and Safety program; to include data collection, aggregating and analyzing data, maintaining policies and procedures and reporting to administrators, Medical Staff and the Board.
- Assists in the establishment of operational performance measurements and the monitoring of trends in key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness, reliability, efficiency, etc. using available information systems data.
- Provide strategic leadership in bringing together diverse constituencies for the purposes of conceptualizing, articulating, and implementing a shared vision for BHN.
- Provide leadership in the development and execution of key strategies which differentiate BHN from its competitors in the area of service and clinical excellence.
What we need from youEducation:- Healthcare administration of MBA/MHA Master's Degree - required
Experience: - Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, management, quality and patient safety

Pay RangeSalary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range Minimum:USD $200,000.00/Yr.
Pay Range Maximum:USD $270,000.00/Yr.
