The VP CUSOs is responsible for driving organizational success through strategic vision, revenue growth, sales leadership, operational excellence, and effective execution across wholly owned Suncoast Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSOs). This role is accountable for developing and executing growth strategies that increase market share, business acquisition, client retention, profitability, and overall organizational performance. The position provides executive leadership in fostering a high-performing sales culture, coaching and developing talent, and advancing business expansion initiatives while ensuring alignment with the credit union's strategic objectives. Through market analysis, innovation, relationship development, and disciplined execution, this role drives sustainable growth, strengthens organizational capabilities, and delivers measurable results across all lines of business

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and growth initiatives for the wholly owned CUSOs, including the development of the annual business plans, revenue targets, growth objectives, and operating budgets
  • Develop and execute business development strategies that drive new member acquisition, increased market penetration, revenue growth, profitability, and long-term business expansion
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, referral channels, and market opportunities that expand value proposition, strengthen market position, and increase profitability
  • Evaluate emerging market trends, competitive threats, and business opportunities and implement strategies that support sustainable growth and competitive advantage
  • Drive achievement of annual sales, revenue, membership growth, retention, and profitability goals across all business units
  • Build and foster a high-performance sales culture focused on consultative selling, relationship development, member service excellence, accountability, and goal achievement
  • Establish sales strategies, production expectations, pipeline management practices, performance standards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure achievement of business objectives
  • Conduct regular business reviews, sales performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and team meetings to improve productivity, effectiveness, and employee development
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement through procedural updates, service modifications, and the introduction of new initiatives or developments
  • Provide ongoing reviews of relevant products and services that meet the needs of members along with igniting growth, instilling member loyalty and improving members' lives
  • Analyze financial results, operational metrics, and market performance to identify opportunities for growth, process improvement, and enhanced member experience
  • Develop and execute strategies that improve profitability, operational efficiency, service delivery, and overall business performance
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly business performance reports, including sales production, profitability, retention metrics, and strategic initiatives, to Executive Leadership and the Holding Company Board of Directors
  • Create a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous improvement, and professional development
  • Identify training opportunities that strengthen sales effectiveness, leadership capabilities, and operational performance
  • Foster collaboration, trust, and alignment across business units to maximize organizational effectiveness and member impact
  • Assess workforce capabilities and determine appropriate staffing levels necessary to support strategic, operational, and growth objectives.
  • Partner with Human Resources to recruit, develop, and retain top-performing talent
  • Develop succession plans and talent pipelines to ensure organizational readiness and leadership continuity
  • Participate in the overall strategic planning for the credit union, including the creation of the annual business plan and budget
  • Provide direction, mentoring, and development opportunities for directly reporting credit union leaders
  • Determine and maintain appropriate staffing levels
  • Cultivate strong working relationships by building trust among team members
  • Establish and implement strategies with short to long term impact on business results
  • Establish overall goals for areas of responsibility
  • Identify areas for improvement, procedural changes, new developments, or changes in services
  • Attend credit union and community events during and outside of regular business hours
  • Represent the credit union at key sponsored events, often including speaking and public relations roles
  • Promote awareness of the credit union mission to memberships and the community
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts in accordance with the credit union's Vendor Management Policy
  • Oversee regulatory compliance in assigned areas
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
  • Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
  • Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees' role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and/or Insurance executive leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Florida General Lines Agent Insurance License (2-20) preferred
  • Experience in insurance, title, real estate, financial services, or related regulated industries preferred
  • Experience developing and coaching leaders, sales professionals, and high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated success leading sales organizations, business development teams, or revenue-generating business units
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue growth, market expansion, customer acquisition, and retention objectives
  • Strong understanding of sales management principles, performance metrics, pipeline development, and consultative selling practices
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and analytical skills to effectively manage areas of responsibility and attain organizational goals
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, government regulators, the Board of Directors, and senior executive leadership
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems or situations requiring broad-based solutions impacting multiple business units or functions
  • Ability to negotiate and compromise to influence the strategic direction of the organization
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
