Overview

Are you a proven insurance marketing leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, relationships, and disciplined growth? Do you have the credibility to sit across the table from sophisticated brokers and large account decision makers plus the vision to build a high-performing marketing team?

We're seeking a Vice President of Marketing in the Bay Area to lead strategy, people, and performance across a key region for Zenith. This is a leadership role with broad influence, high visibility, and the opportunity to shape long-term growth through strong broker partnerships and large account leadership.

You will:
  • Own the regional distribution strategy
  • Lead and develop an experienced marketing team
  • Drive profitable growth across small, middle market and large account segments
  • Serve as a broker-facing leader
  • Be a key steward of the Zenith brand and value proposition


Responsibilities

Lead Regional Growth & Distribution Strategy
  • Design and execute a strategic regional marketing plan aligned with profitable growth goals
  • Build and manage the right mix of broker partners based on geography, opportunity, and capability
  • Lead broker prospecting, appointments, terminations, and performance optimization
  • Develop deep insight into broker books, sales approaches, and competitive positioning

Own Large Account Marketing
  • Lead large account marketing efforts, including early identification, engagement, and renewal strategy
  • Partner closely with our large account underwriting team to meet with prospective policyholders and bring them through our positioning process.
  • Bring strong working knowledge of risk-sharing products, including:
    • Retrospective rating plans
    • Large deductible programs
    • Captive and alternative risk structures
  • Help brokers and prospective policyholders understand complex risk solutions

Drive Sales Excellence & Pipeline Performance
  • Lead a regional marketing team that consistently delivers high-quality submission flow
  • Ensure strong pipeline discipline to achieve growth goals
  • Actively engage in key new business opportunities
  • Coach teams on influencing outcomes, presenting value, and overcoming barriers to close

Build the Zenith Brand in the Market
  • Ensure agencies can clearly articulate the Zenith Difference
  • Lead joint presentations, agency training, and next-generation producer engagement
  • Represent Zenith at industry, agency, and association events
  • Partner with internal teams to evolve marketing materials, programs, and positioning

Develop People & Culture
  • Coach, develop, and inspire a team of Territory Marketing Managers
  • Set clear expectations, create accountability, and foster continuous improvement
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships across underwriting, claims, claims legal, medical management, SIU and Safety & Health.


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Pay, Benefits, and Other Information

The expected salary range for this position is $180,000 to $250,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
