Description

TAK Broadband, LLC seeks a Vice President, Business Development, Construction & Engineering Services in our Sioux Falls, SD office (telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. allowed) responsible for driving strategic growth, revenue expansion, and market positioning across TAK Broadband's telecommunications infrastructure, network deployment, and engineering services divisions.

This individual serves as a key member of the leadership team and plays a central role in executing the company's long-term growth strategy. The VP will lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities across all service lines, direct the company's sales organization, and represent TAK Broadband externally with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. This role demands deep industry knowledge, an established network of telecommunications and construction relationships, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a high-growth environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives, including entry into new geographic markets and service verticals
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within telecommunications infrastructure, network deployment, and engineering services by leveraging industry expertise and competitive intelligence
  • Analyze market trend data and industry developments to make data-driven decisions on pricing strategies, service offerings, and business development initiatives
  • Establish strategic partnerships and alliances with carriers, contractors, utilities, and government stakeholders to expand service capabilities and geographic reach
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences as TAK's senior representative, building and managing relationships with key clients and partners
  • Oversee and direct the end-to-end sales process, including lead generation, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and closure, ensuring a seamless client experience throughout
  • Travel throughout assigned region +/- 50% annually
  • Lead and manage the company's door-to-door sales team, establishing performance standards, directing field sales campaigns, and aligning field activities with corporate growth targets
  • Monitor sales performance data, pipeline metrics, and conversion rates; implement targeted programs to improve performance and profitability
  • Maintain a CRM-driven pipeline management process, ensuring accurate forecasting and executive-level visibility into active opportunities
  • Serve as the executive escalation point for key client accounts, ensuring high satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee key account management, driving client retention, contract renewals, and upsell opportunities within the existing client base
  • Develop and manage business development budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations aligned with revenue targets
  • Track and report sales metrics, win rates, and revenue performance regularly to executive leadership, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Contribute to annual strategic planning, providing market insight, competitive analysis, and revenue projections to inform executive decision-making
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performance business development and sales team, fostering a culture of accountability and results orientation


Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the telecommunications industry, with expertise across telecommunications construction, network infrastructure deployment, and engineering services, including at least five (5) years of: Senior-level business development, sales leadership, and strategic account management within telecommunications construction or infrastructure services; Developing executive-level client relationships and strategic industry partnerships, including with major telecommunications carriers, tower companies, utilities, and infrastructure investors; Overseeing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and executive-level reporting of business development metrics; Establishing telecommunication operation projects by building project scopes, work plans, schedules, deliverables, and resource requirements; Managing federal broadband funding programs, including BEAD, FCC initiatives, and related government contracting processes; Working with FTTH, small cell, DAS, and 5G infrastructure construction; and Utilizing CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales pipeline management tools

  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver's license is required if the role involves driving
