Full Job Description

Genesis Capital (the “Company”) is one of the largest business purpose lenders in the country, focused on providing commercial real estate financing solutions to real estate developers who buy, renovate, and sell single-family and/or multi-family residential real estate. The Company is a subsidiary of Rithm Capital (parent company), a publicly traded mortgage real estate investment trust.

The Loan Officer will focus on driving loan origination for Genesis Capital by capturing and closing new targeted clients as well as cultivating existing clients and increasing their business with Genesis (Wallet share). As part of the client evaluation process the loan officer will be responsible for structuring loan terms, populating the appropriate worksheets with construction terms, borrower history, and borrower capability i.e. pre-funding worksheet, and officially transitioning the loan from lead stage to active pipeline stage.  In addition, the LO will be responsible preparing and presenting the LOI to the borrower, after obtaining approval to distribute. This role will be responsible for cold-calling leads and prospects, attending in-person meetings and presentations, structuring and negotiating loans and tracking activities in the company CRM. The role will collaborate with other Genesis divisions including Credit, Borrower Underwriting, Construction and Valuations to create a seamless process and an excellent customer experience initially and continuously throughout the relationship.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Drive loan origination by cultivating existing borrower relationships and increasing current lending volume from these borrowers. Achieve production goals set by Genesis senior management.
  • Drive loan origination by developing and closing new borrowers and loans from a variety of sources including company leads, referrals, industry involvement, etc. Achieve production goals set by Genesis senior management.
  • Effectively communicate Genesis value proposition to existing and prospective borrowers
  • Develop and deepen the Genesis relationship with existing and new borrowers by enhancing/creating a positive customer experience overall, with a specific focus on client wallet share.
  • Maintain regular, scheduled contact with existing and new potential borrowers via in-person meetings, calls and emails and other means.
  • Participate in relevant networking activities such as trade shows and industry conferences.
  • Work directly with EVP of Sales and Sales Associate personnel on loan/deal analysis, structuring, packaging, pricing and borrower approval.
  • Assist with data/document collection for Genesis Capital loans and borrower approval as needed.
  • Work with Sales Associate personnel to interface directly with Borrowers and their respective teams to quickly and efficiently push loans thru the vetting process and into the Genesis active loan pipeline.
  • Act as liaison between Sales and several other Genesis departments including Evaluations, Credit, Processing, Construction and Borrower Underwriting as needed.
  • Manage specific LO loan portfolio from a variety of aspects including post-closing conditions, covenant tracking, annual borrower renewals, loan extensions, status updates on construction loans, payoff tracking, etc.
  • Collaborate with senior management to create innovative strategies for volume growth
  • Assist with customer relationship analytics, to assess and keep track of the evolving relationship between Genesis and current/potential customers.
  • Perform other functions and assist with other projects as assigned.

The right candidate should have 5+ years of relevant experience and possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, sales or business administration
  • Sales, specifically in lending industry
  • Strong understanding of the real estate and financial sector
  • Real Estate License required
