About the Role

Our client, a growing alternative investment manager, is seeking a VP, Investments to join its investment team. This individual will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments across both public and private markets, with a focus on technology, innovation, and high-growth businesses.

Working closely with senior leadership, this role offers the opportunity to lead investment opportunities from initial sourcing through diligence, execution, and ongoing portfolio management. The ideal candidate is an experienced investor with strong analytical capabilities, sound investment judgment, and the ability to develop independent conviction across a broad range of investment opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate investment opportunities across public and private markets.
  • Lead investment opportunities through financial analysis, due diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and execution.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to support investment recommendations.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and present opportunities to senior leadership and the Investment Committee.
  • Conduct company, industry, and thematic research to identify emerging investment trends and opportunities.
  • Partner with founders, management teams, and portfolio companies to support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance and identify follow-on investment opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with founders, investment bankers, co-investors, and other industry participants to enhance proprietary deal flow.
  • Mentor junior investment professionals and contribute to the continued development of the investment team.


Qualifications & Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years of investing experience within venture capital, growth equity, private equity, hedge funds, family offices, or other alternative investment firms.
  • Demonstrated experience leading investments from sourcing through execution.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and investment underwriting skills.
  • Experience investing across both public and private markets is preferred.
  • Strong interest in technology, artificial intelligence, software, and innovation-driven industries.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced investment environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree is preferred.


$175,000 - $220,000 a year

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. In addition to base salary, the position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
