Role Overview & Job Responsibilities

Vice Presidents for Chicago, IL location. Lead and supervise Quality Assurance (QA) team in the creation, design, execution, development, integration and maintenance of software test plans and procedures involving Big Data Architecture and Whitebox platform. Implement and promote software test methodologies and drive process improvement initiatives and streamlining of QA artifacts. Lead project delivery efforts. Assist project teams with risk assessment and represent QA in cross functional project teams. Report on various key QA metrics to senior leadership. Supervise Engineers. Make presentations to technical and nontechnical audiences. Ensure team complies with ISTQB standards. Technical environment: Whitebox software, large scale Unix/Linux server clusters, cloud (Azure, Oracle cloud), Control M enterprise manager; high performance distributed computing technology; Airflow; HP quality center, QTP; SQL, Selenium, Postgres, Monetdb, Hadoop/Spark and allied Quality assurance and process management tools and frameworks; automated and manual testing; HP-UFT; IBM Rational tools; large and complex [over 1B records/week] data sets; Oracle/Sun java architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Plus 10 years of progressive experience as a Lead Engineer (Quality Assurance/Testing) or with software quality assurance required.
  • Mentoring junior QA engineers
  • Presenting & defending software choices to technical & nontechnical audiences, including executives
  • Leading project delivery efforts: providing feedback, scheduling meetings & feedback, process enhancements; strong engineering delivery and execution track record, with proven experience around design concepts, development, integration, testing
  • Experience with high performance distributed computing technology; programming in compliance with ISTQB standards; Oracle/Sun java architecture; IBM Rational tools; large and complex [over 1B records/week] data sets; automated and manual test strategy/testing, HP Quality Center and QTP including test scripts for marketing analysis in the CPG industry; SQL; UNIX/LINUXSoft skills (e.g. communication, problem-solving, adaptability).

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $202,000 USD to $210,000 USD

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
