Position Summary

Caris Life Sciences is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative leader to serve as Head of Precision Oncology Strategy & Execution. This role leads the strategy, growth, and operational execution of the Precision Oncology Alliance (POA), a national network of leading academic cancer centers, health systems, and community oncology practices.

This leader will strengthen relationships with cancer center executives, principal investigators, key opinion leaders, and healthcare leaders while selectively expanding the POA through strategic institutional partnerships. The role will translate these partnerships into measurable outcomes across multi-institutional research, real-world evidence, clinical trials, product and biomarker validation, multimodal data and AI utilization, clinical integrations, and precision medicine adoption.

Working across Medical Affairs, Research, BioPharma, Commercial, Business Development, Product, Clinical Development, and Executive Leadership, this individual will align strategy and execution to create value for POA member institutions, physicians, patients, biopharma partners, and Caris.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the long-term POA strategy, annual operating plans, governance framework, and institutional engagement plans.
  • Serve as a senior executive sponsor for POA member institutions, building and strengthening relationships with cancer center directors, department chairs, research leaders, principal investigators, health system executives, key opinion leaders, and national oncology organizations.
  • Expand and strengthen strategic institutional partnerships through molecular testing, research collaboration, clinical trials, data access, education, technology integration, and other precision medicine initiatives.
  • Lead executive steering committees and governance forums to drive alignment, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead multi-institutional research initiatives, including real-world evidence studies, registries, translational research, investigator-sponsored projects, and clinical trial collaborations.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support the validation of products, biomarkers, signatures, and companion diagnostics and drive abstracts, publications, and scientific presentations.
  • Represent Caris and the POA at scientific meetings, advisory boards, and industry forums while identifying emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics.
  • Expand institutional use of Caris molecular data, multimodal datasets, and AI capabilities to support research, biomarker discovery, cohort identification, and clinical trial optimization.
  • Advance data-sharing initiatives and clinical integrations, including EHR, ordering, results delivery, and research workflows.
  • Develop early-adopter champions and pilot programs to accelerate adoption of new products, workflows, and precision medicine initiatives.
  • Increase participation, enrollment, and patient access across Caris-sponsored research and clinical programs.
  • Establish scalable processes for opportunity management, project prioritization, performance tracking, risk management, and reporting.
  • Align cross-functional stakeholders around shared goals, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, privacy, ethical, and scientific standards.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team focused on strategic partnerships, scientific collaboration, institutional activation, and program execution.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in science, healthcare, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in oncology, precision medicine, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or a related healthcare or life sciences field, including executive-level partnership, sales, or account leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of precision oncology, molecular profiling, clinical and translational research, and real-world evidence generation.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence C-suite executives, cancer center leaders, department chairs, key opinion leaders, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Proven success developing strategic partnerships with academic medical centers, cancer centers, health systems, or research organizations.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across medical, research, commercial, and operational teams.
  • Strong strategic planning, business development, relationship management, negotiation, communication, and execution skills, including the ability to translate complex scientific and clinical concepts for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree preferred (MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD, MPH, MS, or equivalent).


Other
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50-60%) to engage POA member institutions, attend scientific meetings, and support strategic initiatives nationwide.
