Profile Summary

TheVP, Funds & Partner Strategy, Wealth Management is responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for Voya's Retirement and Wealth Management investment funds ecosystem, and strategic partner relationships. This role provides executive leadership for Retirement and Wealth Management products, including Voya Financial Advisors (VFA), third-party investment products, managed account solutions, mutual funds, ETFs, advisory platforms, and related investment solutions.

The position serves as the primary leader responsible for third party investment partners strategy, funds management, partner governance, and commercial relationships across Wealth Management. The role drives platform economics, and long-term business growth through effective management of strategic investment partners and platform optimization.

Working closely with Wealth Management, Retirement, Distribution, Investment Management, Finance, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and external asset management firms, this leader ensures Voya maintains a market-leading investment platform that delivers value for advisors, clients, and shareholders.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnerships & Asset Manager Relationships

  • Lead and oversee all Wealth Management product partner relationships, including asset managers, mutual fund companies, sub-advisors, platform providers, custodians, strategic distribution partners, and investment solution providers.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive partner strategy that strengthens Voya's position within the investment management community while supporting client and advisor goals.
  • Serve as the senior executive relationship owner for key strategic partners, fostering executive-level engagement and long-term value creation.
  • Lead partner onboarding, due diligence, governance, performance reviews, and relationship management activities.
  • Develop innovative partnership models, engagement programs, and strategic initiatives designed to deepen relationships and enhance business growth opportunities.

Funds Management & Economics

  • Drive the overall economics of the Wealth Management product ecosystem, including distribution arrangements, revenue-sharing agreements, platform fees, sponsorship programs, and other strategic partnership initiatives.
  • Lead negotiations involving product access, distribution rights, commercial arrangements, revenue opportunities, sub-advisory relationships, and strategic partnership agreements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product profitability, partner economics, platform efficiency, and enterprise value creation.
  • Develop business cases supporting new products, investment platform enhancements, strategic partnerships, and technology investments.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with Wealth Management, Retirement, Distribution, Investment Management, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Technology teams to ensure alignment of product and partnership strategies.
  • Serve as executive business owner for major product platform modernization efforts and strategic technology initiatives impacting advisors and clients.
  • Coordinate product education, thought leadership, advisor engagement programs, conferences, and partner-facing initiatives that improve market visibility and advisor adoption.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team responsible for product management, strategic partnerships, funds governance, analytics, and platform administration.

Enhanced Knowledge & Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in wealth management, investment management, financial services, or asset management.
  • Deep expertise in investment products, mutual funds, ETFs, managed accounts, advisory platforms, funds distribution, and wealth management operating models.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale product platforms and strategic partner ecosystems supporting significant assets under management or administration.
  • Proven success developing and executing strategic partnerships with investment managers, asset management firms, custodians, platform providers, and distribution organizations.
  • Strong understanding of investment product economics, revenue-sharing arrangements, platform fees, distribution agreements, and commercial negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead product platform rationalization, governance, and optimization initiatives.
  • Experience developing multi-year strategic plans that drive revenue growth, advisor engagement, client adoption, and profitability.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and drive results in highly matrixed organizations.
  • FINRA Series 7, 24 and 65 or 66 required. CFA designation preferred.

In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
