VP, Credit & Funding We are seeking a
VP, Credit & Funding to lead the strategy, performance, and operational effectiveness of our Indirect Credit and Funding functions. This leader will oversee loan origination processes, credit policy execution, compliance, technology initiatives, and team development while ensuring an exceptional experience for our sales teams, dealership partners, and customers.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the overall effectiveness and performance of Indirect Credit and Funding operations.
- Oversee loan origination processes, procedures, and documentation requirements to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with internal lending policies, fair lending requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Manage and optimize loan origination systems, automated decisioning tools, and operational workflows.
- Partner with Risk, Collections, and Executive Leadership to develop, implement, and monitor strategic initiatives.
- Monitor portfolio performance metrics and emerging risk trends and proactively adjust underwriting guidelines as necessary.
- Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive quality, efficiency, and service excellence.
- Lead technology and process improvement initiatives to enhance decision speed, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure responsible stewardship of company resources.
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing Credit and Funding teams.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex credit decisions and exception requests.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with Sales leadership, dealership partners, and key business stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications - Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the subprime automotive lending industry, including leadership experience within Credit, Underwriting, or Funding operations.
- Industry Expertise: Extensive knowledge of indirect auto lending, consumer underwriting, credit policies, lending regulations, dealer operations, and portfolio risk management.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing credit and funding teams.
- Business Acumen: Strong ability to interpret business and portfolio performance data, identify trends, and drive strategic decisions.
- Technology & Process Management: Experience managing loan origination systems, decisioning platforms, workflow automation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional leadership, collaboration, influencing, and executive communication skills.
Education - Bachelor's degree required.
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree strongly preferred.
Location & Work Schedule - Location: This is a hybrid role is based in our Tempe, AZ office.
