Avera St. Luke's is seeking a dedicated clinic leader with strong partnership and provider relations skills.

A Brief Overview

The Vice President is accountable for providing effective administrative and operational functions of the assigned region with the Avera Medical Group. Ensures care and services are provided in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and the Catholic Religious Directives. As a member of the Administrative Council, participates in the overall strategic planning and operations of the organization.

What you will do
  • Represent/promotes Avera Medical Group during administrative meetings.
  • Active role with clinic operation councils.
  • As a member of the leadership team, serves as a role model of the leadership principles resulting in positive communication and problem solving.
  • Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful clinic atmosphere.
  • In collaboration with the hospital CEO, CMO, CNO and AMG CAO, completes strategic and operational planning for Avera Medical Group.
  • Responsible for the development and overall operations of clinic activities through department heads and administrative support staff.
  • Consults with and advises clinic director and managers on a regular basis.
  • Directly responsible and accountable for the core operations/functions of physician relations, policies, procedures and operational protocols; regulatory and corporate compliance, financial performance, FTE control.
  • Responsible for the development and overall operations of physician clinics.
  • Responsible for contract renewal negotiations of all physicians.
  • Responsible for Physician recruitment and contract negotiation.
  • Responsible for physician locum(s) and contracts.
  • Assist in the development of physician practices and the introduction of physicians throughout the region.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining Physician and other relationships throughout the assigned region.
  • Oversees standards of quality, productivity and performance.
  • Responsible for clinic compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies.
  • Ensures that open, professional communication is maintained with providers and involves providers on issues that affect the clinic as appropriate.
  • Ensures proper credentialing and licensure of providers, staff, and clinics is maintained.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the budgets and business plans for the clinic division.
  • Recommends clinic facility improvements including construction, renovation, and purchase of equipment.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
