Overview

The VP of Business Development is responsible for the development and execution of the overall sales strategy for the assigned region.

Responsibilities

  1. Creates and manages sales performance goals for the region.
  2. Leads and develops a regional sales team ensuring they have the necessary training and resources to drive business from physicians, facilities and other referral sources. Builds a strong pipeline of talent by leveraging individual strengths and closing performance gaps.
  3. Creates and directs the region's enterprise growth strategy partnering with health care providers to ensure a continuum of care. Innovates to identify new or different growth strategies.
  4. Works closely with the operations team to ensure successful execution of the region's operational & growth strategy. Builds collaborative relationships with operations partners and makes decisions based on what's best for Amedisys vs. personal gain.
  5. Functions as a member of the executive management team for the region ensuring that company compliance, performance and HR guidelines are maintained in the region.
  6. Creates a culture of engagement with open communication channels, asking for feedback, building trust and supporting others.
  7. Partners with employees to set appropriate goals. Develops employees through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on the job development opportunities. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives. Redirects performance and behavior when needed.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, health profession, or related field; or Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Five (5+) years' healthcare sales management experience.
  • Eight (8+) years' healthcare sales experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred
  • Home Health and/or Hospice experience.
