Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Vice President of Ancillary Services provides executive oversight for ancillary and support service departments, ensuring operational excellence, strategic program development, financial stewardship, and high-quality patient care delivery across all areas of responsibility. This leader is accountable for driving performance through effective human resource management, quality improvement initiatives, productivity optimization, and the achievement of key operational and clinical performance indicators.

 

The VP plans, directs, and maintains staffing models that support safe, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery on a 24-hour basis. In collaboration with department leaders, medical directors, physicians, executive leadership, and the Board of Directors, this role fosters strong interdisciplinary partnerships to ensure services are delivered in a timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manner aligned with organizational goals and community needs.

 

Serves as a key liaison among patients, families, physicians, and care teams to support communication, service excellence, and resolution of complex operational or patient care concerns as needed.

Provides executive oversight of budget development and financial performance for designated service areas, maintaining accountability for fiscal management, operational efficiency, and achievement of budgetary targets while identifying opportunities for growth and service enhancement.

  • Oversees ancillary and support service departments in the areas of program development, financial management, human resources, quality improvement, and operational performance.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of productivity standards and quality performance indicators to ensure operational efficiency and high-quality patient care outcomes.
  • Plans, directs, and maintains staffing models and coverage patterns to support the delivery of safe, effective, and appropriate patient care services on a 24-hour basis.
  • Collaborates effectively with department managers, medical directors, physicians, executive leadership, and the Board of Directors to ensure timely, cost-effective, and patient-centered service delivery.
  • Promotes strong interdisciplinary communication and partnership across clinical and operational teams to support organizational goals and service excellence.
  • Serves as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and members of the patient care team to facilitate communication, resolve concerns, and support a positive patient experience.
  • Oversees the preparation and management of departmental budgets for designated service areas, maintaining accountability for financial performance and fiscal stewardship.
  • Monitors operational and financial performance metrics and implements strategies to improve efficiency, service quality, and overall departmental effectiveness.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a related healthcare or ancillary services field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive direct management experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing complex operational, financial, and human resource functions preferred.
