Job DescriptionThis position is for an early to mid-level Voice engineer with 5-10 years of experience on the Contract for Organizing Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems (COSMOS) which is NASA's next-generation mission operations contract located on-site at Johnson Space Center. COSMOS ensures the continuity of critical human spaceflight support by providing mission control services, advanced training systems, and full-scale spacecraft mockups for astronaut preparation and engineering analysis.
Description of Duties- Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of Video, Voice, and Timing Systems.
- Assist in the design, development, sustaining, and maintenance of engineering documentation (databases and drawings) and generation of instructions to change (install, modify, update) the various Mission Control Center (MCCS), Mission Training Complex (MTC), and Space Vehicle Mockup Facility (SVMF) voice, video, and timing systems, including MCCS flight control rooms and Ops Suite consoles and Training Systems Instructor Operator System rooms.
- Respond to and resolve technical issues as needed.
- Support the development of project schedules and provide regular status updates to contract management and project engineering teams.
- Coordinate implementation activities with integration teams, maintenance personnel, and other project stakeholders.

Job RequirementsMust have the following education and experience: Bachelor/Master of Science degree and minimum of 3 years of general experience. The candidate must be able to obtain a NASA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Badge for NASA credentials.
Core Technical Skills- Experience with voice, video, and timing systems
- Experience with IP-based Voice and Video system architecture
- Experience with Time Division Multiplexed (TDM) voice systems
- Experience with audio codecs (G.711, G.729)
- Experience with telephony system (Loop/Ground Start, SIP, Asterisk)
- Experience with telecommunications carrier interfaces (TDM, IP)
- Experience with mission audio recorder systems
- Experience with Analog/Digital audio conversion and distribution equipment
- Experience with IP video streaming formats and decoding techniques
- Experience with video interface types (HDMI, SDSDI, HDSDI) and resolutions (720p, 1080p, 4K/UHD)
Operational & Troubleshooting Skills- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of change management, documentation standards, and ITIL processes.
Additional Skills- Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse technical teams.
- Strong communication skills for incident response and root-cause analysis.
- Experience leading projects or mentoring junior engineers.
- Comfortable working independently and exercising sound technical judgment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products including Visio for development of data flow diagrams and system architecture drawings.
- Experience in public speaking and presentation skills.
Desired RequirementsPreferred Certifications- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
- CCNP (Enterprise, Security, or Data Center).
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
