Job Summary:

The Visual Communications Manager, Management Consulting is responsible for delegating and executing visual communications workstreams across a variety of consulting engagements to optimize client outcomes by utilizing strategic design thinking, unique design capabilities, clear communication, and delivery excellence. This role partners closely with consulting teams and client leaders to shape engagement deliverables, provide creative direction, and ensure high-quality, client-ready outputs that tell a story and unite teams toward the same vision.
The Visual Communications Manager drives quality standards, contributes to resource planning, identifies client opportunities, and applies visual communication strategies that strengthen consulting impact. This role may also support internal team learning and development while effectively delivering across multiple, concurrent engagements.

Job Duties:
• Ideates and delivers on visual communications strategy and delivery for consulting engagements, ensuring alignment with client objectives and elevating engagement outcomes
• Partners with consulting teams and account leaders to shape deliverables and develop effective, compelling visuals that distill and simplify complex concepts
• Asks good questions. Thinks diagnostically, quickly analyzing scenarios to determine the most effective, creative solutions
• Listens carefully to identify opportunities where visual design elements can expand scope and add exponential client value
• Conceptualizes, designs, develops, and refines client-ready visual materials, presentations, and communication tools across multiple mediums including digital, print, client intranets/websites, and eLearnings
• Provides quality oversight, strategic guidance, and subject matter support for visual communications work within assigned engagements
• Manages multiple projects simultaneously, monitors priorities, and addresses risks, issues, and changes in scope in a timely manner
• Supports business development efforts through creation of proposal content and pitch materials, as well as identifying follow-on opportunities with existing clients
• Contributes to practice development through coaching, onboarding support, and participation in internal learning initiatives
• Collaborates with leadership on resource planning, staffing visibility, and utilization management across active and upcoming work
• Effectively presents design concepts and rationale to internal stakeholders and clients
• Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Mentors and trains Visual Communication Associates
• Manages delivery of the Visual Communication workstreams and "hands-on" execution
• Effectively liaises with, delegates to, and guides the RISE design team to produce high-quality graphics that add value to visual communication workstream deliverables

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education
• Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Multimedia Design, Communications Design, or Business, preferred
• Master's degree in Design Management, Communications, Organizational Development, or Business Administration, preferred

Experience
• Five (5) or more years of experience in graphic design, visual communications, consulting delivery, or strategic communications in an internal or external facing consultative role, required
• One (1) or more years of experience leading and managing complex client-facing projects, required
• Experience partnering with consulting teams, account leaders, or business stakeholders to develop strategic communication deliverables, required
• Experience supporting business development activities including proposals, statements of work, scoping, and pricing discussions, preferred
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or providing functional guidance to design or consulting professionals, preferred
• Experience integrating AI-enabled tools and workflows into client deliverables in a way that is aligned, accurate, ethical, and enhances clarity, efficiency, and client value, preferred

Software
• Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, required
• Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, required
• Project management and CRM platforms, preferred
• Experience with digital learning, video production, interface design, UI/UX tools, and platforms such as Figma, preferred

• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect visual communications strategy to client and engagement objectives
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Ability to lead brainstorming, collaboration, and design-thinking sessions with clients and internal teams
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced client service environment independently
• Ability to identify risks, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities with sound judgment, professionalism, and calm
• Ability to build effective working relationships with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in predominantly virtual environment
• Strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and client service excellence
• Minimal travel will be required

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $90,000 - $110,000
Maryland Range: $90,000 - $110,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $90,000 - $110,000
