POSITION: Art Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Appropriate Massachusetts Teacher Licensure.
REPORTS TO: Director of Fine Arts
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Teaches basic art concepts, techniques and an appreciation for art.
- Organizes daily lesson plans for each grade level taught, and submits weekly lesson plans to the Director of Fine Arts.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such responsibilities assigned by the Director of Fine Arts.
- Exhibits student art work as requested by the Director of Fine Arts at various elementary schools and/or annual student art exhibit.
- Participates in curriculum and staff development programs.
- Demonstrates good drawing ability and knowledge of subject area.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education provided by the school system, and in self-selected professional growth activities related to arts.
- Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities.
- Ability to adapt new and innovative lesson plans on a yearly basis.
- Establishes and maintains good classroom management.
- Adapts materials and methods to the interest, needs and abilities of groups and individual pupils.
- Dresses appropriately and in a professional manner.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND SALARY:In accordance with the Fall River Educators' Association contract. Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and funding. Salary ranges from $59,491-$105,164 from Step 2 to Step 12, Bachelor's Degree-CAGS/Doctorate Degree.
