POSITION: Art Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Appropriate Massachusetts Teacher Licensure.

REPORTS TO: Director of Fine Arts

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Teaches basic art concepts, techniques and an appreciation for art.
  2. Organizes daily lesson plans for each grade level taught, and submits weekly lesson plans to the Director of Fine Arts.
  3. Performs such other tasks and assumes such responsibilities assigned by the Director of Fine Arts.
  4. Exhibits student art work as requested by the Director of Fine Arts at various elementary schools and/or annual student art exhibit.
  5. Participates in curriculum and staff development programs.
  6. Demonstrates good drawing ability and knowledge of subject area.
  7. Maintains professional competence through in-service education provided by the school system, and in self-selected professional growth activities related to arts.
  8. Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities.
  9. Ability to adapt new and innovative lesson plans on a yearly basis.
  10. Establishes and maintains good classroom management.
  11. Adapts materials and methods to the interest, needs and abilities of groups and individual pupils.
  12. Dresses appropriately and in a professional manner.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND SALARY:

In accordance with the Fall River Educators' Association contract. Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and funding. Salary ranges from $59,491-$105,164 from Step 2 to Step 12, Bachelor's Degree-CAGS/Doctorate Degree.
