Responsibilities: The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer will support Barrow Wise's project and perform the following duties:
- Design and deploy secure, non-persistent VDI pools for up to 500 users.
- Ensure GPU-accelerated sessions, SSO integration with Entra ID, and strong session control.
- Harden Linux desktops (RHEL 9.2 or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS).
- Provide Day-2 operations scripts and training documentation.
- Monitor VDI performance, analyzing resource usage, and identifying potential bottlenecks or issues.
- Utilize software tools to gather metrics on user experience, latency, and system health.
- Implement security best practices for virtual desktops, including user authentication, data encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
- Work remotely.
An ideal candidate has the following:
- Bachelor's degree
- 7 years of experience in implementing VMware, Aria Suite, and complex systems
- Certification in VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Skills: Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Citrix) and their deployment models; Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation tasks; Familiarity with operating systems (Windows and Linux) and desktop/application delivery methods; Knowledge of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewall configurations; Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex systems.
